New Screen Soon but How Many?

anyone else find gaming on big screens is a nightmare and just screws your eyes up?

I used to love my dual screens, got rid of one for size and budget requirements but wish I had it back now, I free lance medical transcribe and so sourcing new terminology whilst audi typing requires alot of Alt-Tabing on one screen

nope, love gaming on big screen, alows me to pick out arms/legs easyer at longer distance. it was hard to get used to when i got it but after 8 months ive learned to love it.

So what am I looking for in my dual screens?

refresh rates? below 5ms?

max resolution?

Ideal sizes for a nice dual screen setup? (opinions)

Makes and models to look out for? (Averaging £150 a piece)

Cheers

Looks like any 'generic' layout screen tbh.

If you have seen it in real life and like it I'd say go for it. The price is good for a 24" and there's nothing better than having seen it in advance.

its not THE best looking screen, but it give a decent picture and looks pretty nice, for the price its very good.

For a dual screen setup that is a bit too large to have side by side...

I think I am looking for around 20" screens. Any suggestions on that???

ah ok, tbh i havent been looking at anything other than that 24" i stated above. 20 inch will only save you 4"ish of desk space to the sides, id go with a 21.5/22 as thats near native 1080p iirc, if your going 20" it will probably be 1650xBLAH

The problem with the "full hd" 22" screens is that they lose height but are still almost just as wide. Might just as well go for 24 with another 150 pixels in height then.

yeah, the decent res smaller screens cost mabey 5-10 quid less so to me the more screen room is worth that little extra.

Thing is I have'nt really the desk space for a double 24" setup. I still have other things on my desk that I need like routers/books/games etc etc.

I guess 22 would be ok but that is pushing it.

I don't want to overdo things, but do you have a concrete wall? If you mount the monitors to the wall using standard VESA mounts you save space on your desk (they are about 15 cm above it usually) and are able to have two large screens.

Those Fujitsu's look very nice indeed. Am I right in saying that the T220 is not "Full HD"??? Seems the resolution is 1680 x 1050???

Also no I dont have concrete walls where I have the desk. Its a studded partition. (Unfortunately)

for mine it didnt matter. I just had to use more screws. Or something like that.

Ok I will take another look at the Samsungs but if I can find a cheaper screen with the same specs im going for that. I dont like paying just for the name.

So another question... I have 2x 8800GT's. How do I set up dual screens. Also if the screens say they are "Full HD" and dont have HD ports on them, how do I get them to run HD?

Sorry just something I have never done before so would like some explaining and guidance.

dvi works fine for 1080p, and with sli you hook both screens up to the first graphics card.

if you wanted you could use dvi to hdmi addapters if the screens have a hdmi port on but i havent noticed any gain/loss in quality tbh.
