New AMD Build: Advice needed

I've got a bit of a project to do for a mate. He's looking at building a small server (basic storage, network management etc.) for a small network. He's looking to spend about £400 (inc) although he has an operating system.

I reckon this would be quite a good start, but I'm looking for some advice/input. There is going to be a screen attached, but I figure onboard graphics is easily enough.

CPU: Athlon X4 630 £80

MB: Asus M4A89GTD PRO £100

Cooler: Titan Fenrir £30

Memory: 1333 Corsair 4GB £95

HD: 1TB Spinpoint £55

PSU: Corsair 400W £40

I'm wondering whether that would be sufficient, or whether I want to go down the i3 route with an H55/57 mobo, or whether I could bump something down a notch and go for a phenom. I'm thinking it won't be OCed (as it needs to be 24/7 stable).

Any comments/suggestions welcomed :D

Kind of figured a quad would be good for multitasking, which servers tend to be. I would like it to be as powerful as i can for the cash, although it doesn't have to be quad.

Id actually get a good dual tbh, a quad in a server is daft. On board GPU can be had with AMD boards or the i3's from intel and tbh for the needs of the rig onboard is fine with either of those options.

Look at the Noctua Ive got in my rig, with the airflow aimed at the board it helps keep all the power regs cooler, which is great for long term stability.

Or get the Gelid Tranquillo. It's better than the Fenrir on the AM2+ and AM3 sockets, and a lot quieter apparantly. Get lots of ram though!

Thanks TTL, a good dual looks like a better option. I might well stick with an AMD socket, but maybe go for a higher clocked dual, and the Gelid looks pretty good so thanks :D. As the server won't be dealing with VMs, mainly sharing and possibly a bit of DHCPing etc. I think 4GB will be plenty.

Thanks for the input guys.
