Hello,

Yeah get straight to it I have installed my CPU i7 4930k went in fine no problem but Im trying to connect the H100i the back plate it comes with I tired to attach it you know behind motherboard the the holes dont go all the way through if you get me...

Because you put the back plate on then you screw in the screws the 2011's ones but I cant because there isnt a hole if you get me..... This is my first 2011 rig but its basically the same with like a 1155 or something isnt it ..?

From the Corsair link "The backplate for the H100i is adjustable and can be configured for any of the supported socket types. Just slide the pins on the bracket so that they align with the holes on the motherboard and then use the double-sided mounting bolts to secure it into place."

So it still seems like you do use it, I don't know if you just misread or something?

Edit: Oh my mistake "If you are using a motherboard with socket LGA 2011, or any AMD based motherboard, then no backplate is required. With these sockets you can use the backplate that is already attached to the board."

Certainly reads that way from the Corsair blog, but I have no personal experience with LGA2011, or AIO coolers.

Sorry I didnt know jeezz, I am kinda ill atm also I would have researched but I thought it was the same as 1155 or something also watching a linus video and he has a backplate kinda concerned me that's all my rig is looking good I just like to double check things.

Didn't mean to be crass but it's obvious if you read the farkin manual it shows every mounting option and has it broken down by socket type watching vids is good to hammer it in for you but read read read is the better option

you don't fit the back plate on the 2011 rig there should be screws that fit on the socket then you put the cooler over them the back plates are for other intel systems and amd hope this helps
