Need help with graphics card issues.

Hey guys!

I have an MSI GTX 580 Lightning Xtreme Edition that i bought about 2 years ago and all of a sudden, roughly every 4 hours on average I BSOD. This only happens when I'm playing games and after 2 weeks of this its getting on my nerves. I think that its a driver issue but I haven't got any new hardware or installed any new drivers recently. The BCCodes are different on each BSOD as well which is the strange part. I'm going to try to update this post with each of the BCCodes and list them all below starting with the most recent one "7f". If anyone knows what might be going wrong could they please reply to this thread and let me know.

Many Thanks, Elliot :D

um it could be a driver issue with my 560 ti driver will just randomly crash, one way to fix that is to revert to 314.22 or 312.something drivers. i am currently at 314.22 and no crash for over a week

I have tried updating and downgrading my graphics card drivers. Im gonna try find out what driver it is crashing now with that link that I was given (thanks for that btw :D)

Google where to locate minidumps and how to debug them on Windows using the SDK. That will tell you what driver it was that crashed.

EDIT: Here you go http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lockup-debug-how/26584-configuring-debugging-tools.html

Ok i done what it says and i got the following report. The thing is though, i searched for the probable cause driver on my boot drive and there were no search results.

Looks like you may have to update your BIOS. It's not the GPU crashing directly.

EDIT: Or the PSU may be causing something to malfunction.

What sound card are you running?

Yeah i think its the sound card. I just got a very similar BSOD while I was listening to music. I have the Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty Titanium Champion series. Its been buggy ever since ive got it and the dolby chip on it has never worked. Ive only been able to run analog. I have a Razer Chimaera 5.1 and have never really been able to use it because it doesnt get any input when I plug it in. Looks like im gonna have to be using a different sound card. Any reccomendations (preferably not creative cards, i wanna stay away from them now haha). I have a corsair SP2500 speaker set and im thinking of getting a new headset aswell so as long as it can run those 2 then im happy. Thanks for the help though. that link was incredibally useful :D

Yup looks like there was issues with the dolby processing on the creative cards. Most of us prefer the Xonars here :)

At least you found out how to debug minidumps :)

Haha yeah Thanks :D. I think that its funny that I know 3 programming languages but I didnt know how to debug a bsod haha.

So you are saying that I should get maybe the Xonar Phoebus. btw im a complete audio noob haha. I can tell the difference between cards, i just cant tell what the difference would be from specs :D. So maybe the Phoebus and the Razer Tiamat 7.1? or would you suggest something different?

Edit: Or actually the Phoebus Solo would be cheaper and its the same card, just without the control box i think :D

Ha yeah I'm a programmer too and one day I thought, wouldn't it be great if I could debug these crash dumps.. lemme Google that real quick. Turned out to be pretty straight forward and often over looked tbh.
