Need For Speed: Shift Comp?

I was thinking the other day that although a lot of people are not online at the same time, we can still have a little racing together (per se). Last time we did a fastest lap round the Nordschlieffe in an Audi TT. I think we should do some more of these to get us away from all the Call of Duty we will be playing soon!

So I propose the first track and car to be the one we did last, because I'm busy atm and can't do another right now XD

Just like that! All cars are stock with no upgrades, apart from paint of course. And don't sneak in upgrades, because that's just not sporting!

So I decide to have a go and it went like this:

was getting annoyed at this point,so I went and bought one from the car lot,just so I could adjust the tyre pressures(lol)and ended up with........

STILL NOT ABLE TO BLOODY DO IT!!!!!

I seem to remember you using some bloody great steering wheel and chair setup too, which should give you an advantage!

Antone else have any problems with watching the replays?I saved a replay of my 8:42 run and at certain points in the replay it stuttered like Porky Pig on crack

You lost about two seconds at the first hard braking zone (0.24) You can go in full throttle and brake much later then whack the car into a slide. And generally just when you go off the track, keeping it on will save you bundles of time, that time I did, I went of the track maybe once or twice.

I think it was the grass near the end that saved you

Looks like you may need to get warming up,by the end of the day I should have beaten you(hopefully)

Right, so I just installed Shift, and thought I'd have a go at this.

I regularly play Forza 2/3 on the xbox, and I love Dirt 2 aswell, but this game I cannot play. It handles so bloody awful! How can you play this?!

try adjusting your settings,I started with these,then tweaked until I felt happy(ish)

Steering Dead Zone-15%

Accel Dead Zone-10%

Brake Dead Zone-10%

Steering sensitivity-5%

Acell Sensitivity -5%

Brake sensitivity-5%

Speed steering Sensitivity 100%

And if you want some real improvement try the REAL mod 2.0b,it improves the handling,to be more less like driving on ice in a car with 5 wheels

Run through how to set this up guys, I only have a maxxed out TT available, how do you get a stock one, can't seem to find a stock one to buy.

On the game go through the sequence of setting the trial up. It's been bloody ages since I last played properly

What are you using to drive? Steering wheel or controller?

Slow through the corners? Thats because I stayed ON the track you didnt ever touch the corner with your car half the time!

Id try cheating and just flooring it everywhere nepas!

@Lasher- I am using a controller(PS2 clone),and what do you mean you cant find one to buy?you can get one from the carlot or when you pick the race you are asked if you want to use your cars or stock or reward.

@Complex!- Well not entirely(but the real car handles crap as well,so its fair I suppose)

@Tom- But cheating and flooring it everywhere spoils the fun of it(although I am getting annoyed that I cant do it now)

So I tried Time Attack(for the rolling start) and still failed

After a few more cups of tea I decided to have another go at a normal standing start and this was the result

In the words of FPS DOUG "BOOM HEADSHOT!"

tbh the lap was very poor,I slid off once or twice so I reckon with a bit more careful driving I can get that under 8:20.
