(Arsenal mug, very nice

Nice work on the acrylic, the finish is great.

Im going to be using some acrylic soon myself but my choices for polishing are heat gun or acetylene torch and I fear im going to get results ranging from no effect to utter destruction with those two

Thanks alot for the kind words. Im glad you like it.

Been to the hardware store and bought more gass for the blow tortch and also two large clamps. All set for this weeks schedule.

I got x4 NZXT led cables. Two is white and the other two is blue. Ive been thinking about where to mount them the last two months, and i cant really make up my mind about it. I got two internal ideas and one where i mount them in the front.

Inside options: i can just screw them horizontally on front wall, or i can cut and bend some smoked acrylic and mount it on. Think the acrylic option would look rather good.

Outside. I got some steel plates i can cut or i can use acrylic. If i do this i would have to cut off some on the controllers and drill a few holes.

Any ideas/suggestions?

I modded mine to fit on the harddrive cage, have a look at my rig
biggrin.gif

Cant have mine there since it will mess up the looks. I know you can take the plate off but i still need a good place to put the pcb/switch. Remember i dont use a normal case. If i did i would have done something similar like you did

Il try and do something funny with acrylic and see what i end up with.

the work you did with the acrylic is impressive.

Thanks

Im finnishing the other acrylic piece now. Also, i have cut out acrylic piece that will be used for mounting the nzxt controllers. Looks good so far and il show some pictures in a while.

Made the piece for the nzxt controllers. Heating remains and i also need to drill some holes

Making the mounting plate wasnt easy. The cutting disk toutched one of the side, but i dont think it will be that noticeable after i have heated it. Glad this dirty work is over. Plastic bits all over the kitchen

Need to take off some from the controllers. First i bent it out but that didnt look so pretty, so off it came.

After first heating. Havent decided if im gonna drill holes in the controllers and the acrylic piece, or if i am using strong double sided tape.

It would be really cool if you could cut a piece of aluminium to fit in the hole, then cut holes in it for the buttons to pass through
biggrin.gif

Nice. Double sided tape may be better aesthetics wise, but it might not be strong enough.

Yeah i agree, and its better safe than sorry. The controllers got push in buttons, and i would hate if they fell off when i turned on/off. Already found screws for it with nut, and i will give it a coat of black spray paint so it looks better.

Need to be really carefull when i drill the holes.....its amazingly quick to make a mistake and then you need to cut out a new piece.

will you not be able to see little lines between them? I love surprises
smile.gif

Litle lines, yes, probably. They must be mounted really close to each other. So it all depends on how lucky i am with making the holes in the acrylic. If im not happy with the result i can move it inside the case. Still be quick access to the switches anyways.

going from strength to stregth. One of the things I love about modding is the little technical challenges that meet us when things don't go as planned. Or "Pains in the arse" as they are sometimes known
