Are you going to stain of colour the wood? Must admit I quite like the natural pine myself.

Dark oak stain/oil would look good i think, but the plan is to paint it black on inside and white on outside. Im gonna order the reinforced glassplate for the top, so il have it ready for when im done. Must admit im itching after watercooling and overclocking

Yeah sorry my bad you've already made the side cabinets and they are white doh!

I'm liking the way the 240 grill is mounted

Thanks. Need to paint a few extra fans for it + black sleeving...thought i was finnished with that kinda work by now, but no.

The plan is to sand/file down and primer it after the weekend. Il make whole for the MB now and update the logg after.

When do we see the finished product?

So far looking very nice!

Thanks.

As soon as its done, and before the IB launch. Im not rushing anything, and i like the thaught of puting it to the side when i want to.

Update: I finnished the cut out for the MB, but i didnt get any time to take any pictures of it. Same method as b4.

One thing i cant decide, is how to do it with NZXT switches. If i should have them on the fronside or some internal solution...

Doing last finnish on the front side fan acrylic. Need to have an extremely steady hand, consentration and focus at all time for doing this with a good result. Really fun work really

Lined up the bit i want off. Doing this for smoother edges. Some of the cuts didnt break off as nicely as i hoped for.

Done cutting. Heres what i took off from both grills.

Next part is to sand down the cuts and then clean them properly. Will use a heatgun/rocket lighter after. As i have alot of freetime now, i will do some good progress on this project. Maybe i get the housing painted by the end of this week. More to come.

After sanding and cleaning. Will try and polish the edges first, before i do any heating.

Using this tool and i also got some nice 240 sanding paper.

Need to clean the kitchen after. Quite alot of plastic bits and dust from this kinda work.

Here it after sanding and cleaning. Gonna leave it so it dries properly.

Edit: Polishing works nicely, but im gonna heat the edges aswell. Il continue tonight/tomorrow.

Wow, that looks stunning after the polishing and sanding

.

Thanks m8.

I tried to use the heatgun but it didnt work as i hoped. Think heatgun is best when you are bending plastic. Sooo, i used direct flames from a lighter tortch(dunno if that is correct name)

When using this, you need to move it all the time. Or else the acrylic will set on fire.

Heres the lighter/tortch i used. Also used this one when i sleeved alot

Edges around have been heated. The circle closest is heated but the circle behind it isnt, so you can see the difference.

Circle to the left is only sanded/polished.

Im happy with the results so far. Il heat it a bit more for even more glassy look.

Nice work on the acrylic, the finish is great.

Im going to be using some acrylic soon myself but my choices for polishing are heat gun or acetylene torch and I fear im going to get results ranging from no effect to utter destruction with those two
