My 580 is having a spaz attack

So, I've got another problem with my rig... How surprising....
My 580 just refuses to work in games. Got afterburner open and will run a game. Get like 10fps on something like farming simulator 2011 and look at afterburner and it will either refuse to move above about 10% usage, or it will flicker between 40-60% usage then back down to 0%. It would stay on 40-60 for about a second then go back down to 0 for about a second, then back up etc etc.
Any ideas as it was working fine last night?

850W can handle a 580 fine.
Have you tried reinstalling drivers?
And have you got the latest drivers installed?

a fully working psu of course can handle a 580 fine.

Reseat the card, install driver updates, uninstall / reinstall drivers, reset BIOS...few things to try

check the card or connectors haven't become dislodged in any way
reinstall drivers via a "fresh install", there is a tickbox for this in the nvidia installer

Ah don't worry about it now guys. My PC seems to have had one of its many fits where something breaks and then fixes itself an hour later with me making no changes what so ever.

This is a driver issue, revert to 296.10
