Mount Bay Res Vertically

It could be mounted vertically, but it would be a massive pain to fill. You'd have to fill it while it was on its side.

You'd be better off going for a tube res tbh!

I thought about filling by sliding it out an inch or two and using one of the top ports as they would be on their side, one above the other. I was intending to use the middle back port for inlet and lower back port for outlet.

Wouldn't work?

Keep in mind that when you mount a bay res vertically you're probably going to have a foggy
window with lots of water droplets on it. Not that that's necessarily bad, but just something to
keep in mind possibly.

As for how feasible it is, the res would probably work fine, might have to do some modding to
mount it I suppose. And yeah, filling would probably be a bit inconvenient (you could also just
take off the plexi front, which would likely be the most comfortable way to fill it, but a bit annoying
to loosen so many bolts, and then re-seating the O-ring when sealing it again).

Alternatively, you could use a separate fill port.

Think I'll need to settle for a tube res, I just don't think they look that great but I suppose that's the downside to the air540 having vertical drive bays.

Thanks for advice.

Tube reservoirs are far superior anyway.

Bay reservoirs are revolting and hideous. Did you know they were designed by Satan?

I made a quick paint thingy on how to do it the easiest way to fill up atleast.

Personally i would never do that because it wouldnt sit right with me to have the normal fillport on top of bay reservoirs be underwater all the time, but yeah it could work.

Thanks for that. I know it's possible, but it's not right and I don't want to risk a heap of hassle. Tube res getting ordered for this one!
