Hello All,

when i put in my new loop i filled it with 1 litre of mayhems aurora premixed fluid (tharsis red) it looked really mint going around the loop all the silver bits mixed in with the red.

now it has been running a few days all the silver sparkly bit have disappeared you can only see the red fluid flowing around.

i'm really disappointed now, still looks good but not as good.

i did shake the bottle really well before i put it in the res.

has anyone else seen this issue / problem before.

cheers andy....

Sadly thats the way this stuff is with a lot of loops. Ive got some here and will never use it because you dont know how it will react.

Headsup. you should not strip your loop and clean it all out because all the particles are clogged somewhere....

@ mayhem

the system is from specialtech the oc3d gold award winner

xspc 750 res/pump mounted in drive bays. the rs 360 rad mounted in roof and the rasa black cpu block

this is my first go at watercooling a noob, so perhaps i should have gone wirh a pastel fluid instead !!!!!!!

you don't learn anything if you don't try do you.

cheers for the replies

will probably flush it out in the next couple of weeks

What is your system set up , did you follow the Wiki. What is you rad.

The pearl wont clog im afraid that is incorrect its just caught up somewhere in your system.

The liquid is for short term use how ever if "you know what you are doing" and understand the liquid you can get it to last a very long time as we have now had running 9 months+ wit no problems but we don't advise you to run it for this long.

If your after removing it from you system its quite easy to do you simply plumb you system up to the tap and flush your system for 15 min and it will all come out. Then once you finished run Di water though you system to remove any tap water back out and your ready to go again.

So its clogged somewhere then.... All the pearl will be collected in one place shall we say.

Said to you on MSN from day one this stuff should never have been released to the 'public'

I've had a similar experience with my system after about 6 weeks of running I noticed I was now looking at blue rather than the pearl I was expecting.

On investigation I found the following

I did notice when I first installed it that there were vortices being created on certain trailing and leading edges of the copper block within the coolant path. I think this is why the deposits have been formed. My motherboard blocks show no signs of the above. I can't say the same for the RASA block yet as I will find out when I strip it once i've drained the fluid. It does look good for a while but I will be flushing my system out and replacing with pastel I think.

The block is an EK GTX 260, in fairness to Mayhem, I think the XSPC 750 kit with the integrated drive bay pump/res was on the unsupported/not recommended list???

Cheers

Lee

The pastel is epic matey. Your problem here was the res I believe, Im pretty sure Mick has tested that and its listed somewhere as a component with known issues with the pearl.

cheers tom.

should have done a bit more research really. i was too eager to get the rad and loop in, being my first try at watercooling.

followed your water cooling video guide epic mate really helped me

Ive wanted to try the pastel for some time just aint got the kit to do it but i have to admit it looks the dogs. The best thing to do mate is research before you try or get anything it saves alot of hastle and ball ache

well all done again.

flushed out the aurora fluid with 5 litres of di water.

all of the pearl was at the bottom corner of the res.

put all new tubing on and filled with the pastel sunset yellow looks the nuts - well chuffed. should name the rig "rhubarb & custard"
