Hi, im new here, but ive been toying with getting a phase shift for a long time... however i have a Lian Li PC-73SL, which i do not want to mod, cut or anything... if you have a look at the pics i will attach would you be able to put the tube out the 80mm fan hole to the left of the cpu socket? would it be flexible enough to do this?

Also i was reading on the vapochill site that it makes about 36dB noise, what sort of noise does the Mach2 or Mach2 ST make, im ideally wanting to keep it under 30dB as it will be running 24/7 (if anyone has any views on it being on 24/7 this please can you tell me them)?

Thanks

if u want 2 run under 30db ur gonna ave 2 go for a mach2 mate. sum ppl have modded the ST buy addin the usb lead. therefore allowin u 2 control the fan speed. but as i said only sum ave managed 2 do it sucessfully. best thing 2 do mate is 2 talk 2 phil stanbrigde im sure he can give u all the help u need.

ahh, just i had mainly been thinkin of a good water kit, but then when i found the price of that (about the £300) i thought i would look to see if phase had dropped any in price... but the main think im worried bout with phase the the condensation (im in a room thats normally very humid and 25+degC)

ye condensation can b a prob. but as long as u research into it, it shouldnt b a prob. wat system u plannin on runnin with it? cpu, mem, mobo?

i got a 2500+ M, DFI Infinity 4/29 beta bios on bios saviour, have 1gb kingston value ram (hopefully this will be replaced next week with 1gb OCZ PC3700 EB)

Hi mate and welcome to my forums :) As Warlord has already said, the Mach II is the quieter of the two units by a long way - and you can also run the fans virtually silent if you wished during prolonged periods of inactivity. People on this forum run 24/7 with phase-change so its no an issue.

ohh, sounding better :) - what you think of being able to put the cap tube threw the 80mm fan hole?

Cheers

not 2 sure on that mate, its advise not 2 fiddle around with the cap tube, but if u feel u ave an effective way 2 do this then it may b worth a try. but personally if u want a mach2 ur gonna ave 2 cut a hole in the bottom of ur case. belive me u wnt regret buyin a mach2, so dnt let a lil simple mod 2 ur case hold u bk

yea but it was more the fact that if i wana sell the case on later i will have cut a hole in the bottom of a £230 case, which will dramatically reduce its value :s

-but i know wot ur saying, ur gonna be paying £300-£500 for a cooling unit when u aint prepared to cut a £230 case

no mate the cap tube is not the prob

the evaporator is big so it wont fit i reckon...

+ you dont wanna be bending a lot your cap tube with phase change rigs...

even if you fit it then you will have to make a 90degree turn on your cap tube which is no good in order fot the cap tube after being installed can fit through the hole.Dont think it would have the slack needed either...

I am using the GT after selling my mach 2 mate and i am running 24/7

you can condensation proof your board easily i would say...

welcome to the forums :)

okes thx for the advice, just have to try and find the money :D

i'll keep on eye on the ppl that got the ST working with the USB cable :D might save myself some money

isn't the 73 like a server style case - like the 70 with a door. I think its new.
