Looking for a keyboard

Hello I am looking for a new keyboard.

Right now I have the v1 of the logitech G-15 keyboard and a logitech laser m500 basic mouse. I am going to get a Sidewinder X8 mouse wireless so I have that covered however for the keyboard while i still belive this to be the number 1 keyboard of all time. I am looking for a high quality preferably low profile keyboard that is confortable (preferably wireless but im fine if its not) 100$ or less and well get the job done. I dig my keyboard it just takes up space and while i have a massive desk i kinda want something that doesnt take up as much space.

So a simple high quality keyboard (I game a lot, starcraft 2) would be fantastic.

thanks for the help.

Well do you use the screen on the G15? If you use it a lot in game you'll muss i if you don't you'll be fine. Do you use the G keys on the left much? If so how many rows of them do you use.

Do you like it being back lit?

I have a G19 it's awesome the LCD is cool. do I really need or use it? Nope hardly ever most the apps are really pointless. As for the G keys I use one line of them (6 shortcut keys). The other (6) line I don't use at all.

So what features would you miss?

I would avoid wireless it's simply not good enough yet to game well the products aren't out yet. Cross fingers for the future.

I dont really use the screen or the Gkeys, I do use the volume control but thats about the only thing i would miss.

I am looking for something pretty simple im not looking for just a new gaming keyboard like the g19 im looking for something that will jsut be average thin keyboard but high quality.

Razer keyboards are horrible though I dont care to have any of those.

Have a look at Roccat Arvo, a small keyboard with medium height keys, but also has some gaming buttons, scan.co.uk price is £42.34. Might be exactly what you are looking for.

Most keyboards include a volume button now and if not windows has a built in shortcut any wat lol. I would suggest going in store and type "the quick brown fox hips over the lazy dog" on all the keyboards and see what one you like the feel of. Your nit looking for features so you don't need to look for that just your personal preference. I got mates gaming on Microsoft basic mouse and key board and also a mate who games on a old beige PS2 keyboard and won't upgrade his PC now because it is hard to find a mobo with PS2 support. go try some keyboards out and see what you like.

I am personally looking at the razer lycosa for my next keyboard upgrade !

remember what i said earlier

Razer keyboards are horrible though I dont care to have any of those.

I said that for a reason. I was into razer at one point until i really started looking into the reviews and the razer lycosa is probably the lowest rated keyboard they offer. All of them appear to have similar problems, the keys start to stick. I noticed all the good reviews are people who had it for years or people who just got it because the newer ones for some reason just arent good. Same for the mice they begin to have problems. Its really a bummer because if their products were really as good as they said I would have loved them but basically everything that they have is just pure garbage. Do as you wish but tell me in a year if you had no problems.

I look at this logitech g-15 keyboard I had for years and years and years and it still works perfectly, no keys stick, the media controls never fail, the screen never lost a pixel or anything its just perfect as heck. This is why I am not looking for an "upgrade" because nothing is better than this IMO im looking for a simple keyboard similar to the lycosa but I want a keyboard that has no problems.

If your a bit Logitech loyal maybe look at

G510

or

But I think the G510 has to many G keys IMO If you shop around you can get these for less than $100 or close to it, I got my G19 for $159AU over a year and a half ago and AU prices are over priced

Lol I know what it is man I was just suggesting some thing along the lines Of the G15 since you seem to sound attached to your G15.

Here a logitech K200

I know i sound really picky but that is too cheap

im looking for something that has as much quality as you would expect from a lycosa. A thin keyboard preferably with media controls (though they all do now basically) but one that if i looked on newegg would have good reviews. I am not looking for keyboards like they use at school, im just not looking for a keyboard tricked out like mine. im looking for a very top of the line average keyboard. hard to explain. so far sapsh was the closest to what i was looking for.

Sorry I didn't see your opinion of razer keyboards !

I have a logitech dinovo edge right now, I really like it but it may be over budget.

Its a wireless keyboard that uses bleutooth, the only reason I am looking for a new keyboard is because it doesn't have a numpad.

It has an internal lithium ion battery and lasts about 2 months on a single overnight charge.

Enermax Acrylux is a pretty good keyboard. One thing have you considered getting a mechanical keyboard? Also do you need backlit keys?

Logitech dinovo edge looks rather nice, it is wireless too but I guess soemthing I didnt look into before writing this post was that the wireless keyboards all seem to have a few reviews that say "it ocasionally looses connection" have you ever had a connection problem? I am going to be using this for starcraft 2 and if I loose hotkeys for even 1 minute that could be a problem

Enermax acrylux is rather nice looking, I have looked at mechanical keyboards before but they all have big loud keys I like the thin ones. and yes I forogot to mention it but it should be backlit, i have yet to see a high quality keyboard that isnt backlit yet.

apple is a bit overpriced, and I dont think white and grey compliment my black computer/monitor/mouse

my bro has that keyboard and for some reason i just never fell in love, its better than the average keyboard that comes with almost any prebuilt computer from hp or dell but its not better than most other thin keyboards IMO.

oh darn very dissapointing, I cannot get the roccat products in my country, I started to like their keyboards they have medium hight keys, few macros, backlit, looks good. (not the arvo i cant remember the name of the one i saw) but they dont have it in my country. What a bummer.

You were probably looking at Valo, because Isku is not yet available and is massive

Where are you from? You might get one from eBay/Amazon, etc.

Oh... so now you want 'em backlit now. Why didn't you say so in the beginning. Options from Logitech are the wired Illuminated keyboard and the newer K800 wireless keyboard, but they both have wrist rest or is that going to be still a problem.
