My Irish grand dad from the republic came over to England to help fight even though Ireland was neutral and my German grand dad was sent to stalingrad shortly after fighting in Berlin, Got captured in Stalingrad, Stayed there for 7 years repairing half tracks and tanks for the Russians as P.O.W *Engineer* and then sent back to Berlin.
