Ladies on the forum

Sorry for the rather sweeping statement

This has got me thinking about trying my hand at a review, won't have much production value due to 100% lack of budget, but would anyone be interested in watching?

No idea as to what I could review that's actually relevant and hasn't been already done to death though.

Really summed it up in a nutshell there. People want to see the biggest and craziest systems, regardless of cost.

Honestly I'm more interested in budget builds and bang for buck performance hardware than balls to the wall "look at what you wish you could afford" hardware.. it's more the affordable options I'm looking forward to.

More people will buy 1060s than 1070/1080Tis, it seems almost all reviews these days are hardcore enthusiast focused rather than targeting the main market with the exceptions of TTL and J2C... sure a Lambo looks epic and goes like the clappers but a Ford Focus will get the job done and save you a fortune in the long run. The last time I was truly excited and wow'd was when we did the Ryzen 3 testing, amazing price and exceptional performance to boot.

I get what you mean  Only thing that really irritates me is how obviously she's reading from a script.. And the fact that she dresses like she's going out clubbing just for a pc component review

I watched a few of her videos but unsubbed after watching 2, It was the same pouty "look at my boobs hanging out" or "see how tight i can get my pants so I have mega cameltoe" drivel over and over again, If a woman wants mindless horny teenage boys to watch her stuff then that's the way to go, You want professional, Then she's doing it REALLY wrong.

Briony from KitGuru does it right, She does a good review and doesn't feel the need to have anything hanging out and she's stunning, She covers up which is so refreshing to see, That's how you do tech videos and look professional and not like the stereotypical attention seeker.

I've just never understood why women feel the need to have their breasts on show, Yes we get it, There are 3.70 Billion other pairs of breasts in the world, They are not unique, It's like men walking around with their acorns hanging out, It would make no sense.

That shouldnt stop you though, and review the stuff you have used, its all about personal perspective and experience with said items, end of the day its not just the product, its the person behind it giving their insights what interests people to follow you and stick around.

Look at our own Guv, his style and personality is why we all here, his way of writing and doing video's is what we love around here, and its so different from the mainstream stuff that it found its own audience in the tech review space.

Problem is that pretty much every one feels inferior and doesn't bother showing their builds/mods etc. That is how life has become. It's all about the 1up.

This is also very true, and why I came here other other forums. Everything just seemed more down to earth. It's irritating how I can find so many more guides and reviews for the 7980XE for example than any CPUs I've actually been considering buying. TTL did literally the only full video review on the 7820X I settled on, none of this showdown hype nonsense.

This has always been my logic, if you need to pull stuff like that to get traction, it speaks a lot about the quality of the advertised content.

Very good point! I think I may give it a crack once I get my new CPU and maybe produce a video on my experiences overclocking it? It's been done before, but it's a subject I'm pretty comfortable with :)

There are a number of articles on various sites about the 7980XE, sadly very few of them know what they are talking about.

When it came to overclocking mine it was a very different procedure to what people posted in some of these articles.

Having said that TTL does some really first class videos and I really like watch them.:)

I don't even understand how sex appeal can sell tech videos. Have the children of today not discovered pr0n yet?

Neither do I. My theory is that a lot of people see the sex appeal and then their brain switches off due to lack of blood flow. Plus they (somewhat) talk about something the viewer is interested in which draws them in even more.

Tbf the whole idea of hot girls being used to sell tech isn't all that strange. There's half naked women walking around all sorts of events, like boxing, racing, darts, etc. It's just part of the fun isn't it

I just don't get who's BUYING. Sex has always sold, but in the tech world, the tech is the priority, not boobs or camel toe (or even moose knuckle). :D That irks me. Seeing a YouTube video with an attractive woman who isn't a complete slut doing tech news (ie Julia Zhang), and then reading the comments section, makes me embarrassed to be male. Leg humping galore, and the poor girl is trying to be professional (no skimpy clothes, etc). I'm going to start posting some porn links in those comments, I swear.

This is the biggest thing that puts me off doing video reviews. I'm all for a good write up, but YT can be a pretty nasty place :(

Lady, you need 1 of 2 things:

1) THICK skin
2) disable the comments

Sad to say. :( The YouTube comments sections of a LOT of tech vids involving females are just awful. But if you can let that roll off your back, or just don't read them, you'll be fine. Most of the comments are just leg-humping anyway. I guess all geeks dream of meeting a nice geek-ette. :)

Don't let that stop you lady! Go for it, comments be damned! If it's something you want to do, as the Nike slogan says, 'just do it'.

I think disabling the comments and encouraging discussion elsewhere would be a good option. That way it just makes it too much effort to post a stupid comment.

Like I mentioned earlier, I think I'm going to film an OC guide / log just to get a bit more comfortable with things and see how it goes :)

Considering how well you juiced up that old 3820k, I'd be interested to see that guide. :) I only pushed mine to 4.3, where you pushed yours into bloody orbit, LOL!

I don't think it's part of the fun, no. In fact in the U.K we don't have women parading around in their underwear for the darts any more. I also don't like how women are used at tech events for heads to get a photo with. I think again it's exploitation.

Where you pushed yours into bloody orbit, LOL!

Must have pumped out a serious amount of heat, if the cooling failed we would have had a criticality event along the lines of Chernobyl

I do agree on that the speed LC obtained is insane, especially on Sandy Bridge
