I watched her once, did not like what I was seeing in terms of delivery or the un-natural pouty sexy look and the lack of confidence.
I would rather see plane jane delivering meaningful content any day of the week girl from Level 1 springs to mind as she is confident

oh god, quick change subject before we move on to the morals debacle again.

Most active ladies I know of do not browse here but a more inclined to post on bit-tech as there is a quite a large catalogue of project logs going on there. Sadly the P.logs on here are quite scarce now.

I need to do a new one myself.

I hear that, I say it's primarily costs that is keeping people from doing it. Only reason why my rig isn't in a custom loop right now as well.

Who's this Lauren/tastyPC? I've never heard of her, and by that I mean, I don't watch anyone on YouTube outside OC3D, J2C and HardwareCanucks :lol:

IMO modding went up its own ass a long time ago. It used to be about fun, expressing one's self and having something no one else did. Then the money men moved in and it all became about money. The problem is you are showing this to 16 Y/O kids and once they get that level of expectation they won't even bother with anything else. That is what happened at Linus's forum. It used to be crazy busy and now it's died because the guy with four Titan V comes along, hogs all of the attention and so on.

I guess if you are a follower of B-T you will notice the argument we had about all of this a couple of weeks back, with me suggesting they have different forums for different skill sets/machines/money etc. All fell on deaf ears as it usually does.

Having said that it's the same everywhere in our world and another reason why I hate it. Some one has a idea for a community (a good one) and then the willy wavers move in. I'm currently still working (on and off, the attitudes have put me off it) a BMX from the 80s worth about, Ooo, I dunno £450 or so? more than enough for an old POS. Any way, been slagged off left right and centre because it's not a £4000 BMX.

It happens unfortunately. All of the tobys in this world who have made money hand over fist and just want to pee the highest.

That is why many internet forums are dying. Every one wants to see some 22 year old kid driving his sister around in a Lambo with 800k subscribers.

I'm so glad I won't be here in 50 years time.

I so agree with you! She really does set herself up for it though, I'm sure she doesn't dress like that when she pops to the shops. She's doing it for the subscriber and view count regardless of if they're actually interested in PC gear or not. Which is unfortunately undermining what could be far better content.

This is what I was saying, her delivery just feels a little unnatural. I think it's because she seemingly edits out or reshoots anything that is even slightly off script, just makes everything seem really quite serious and not very organic.
I don't currently have a channel, but I'd love to be doing videos about topics I personally enthuse in rather than editing for others. I just don't have the space to really film anything.Certainly not to a standard i'd be happy releasing anyway.

I did notice the P logs are pretty slow on here :(
Mine seems to have a bit of interest at least and I should have another updated posted by this evening. I chose here to do mine mainly because of the large amount of UK based members.

Yup totally. As I used to say when I was a bit younger "Pulled a girl last night who looked like Cindy Crawford. What I woke up with looked more like Michael Crawford".

I believe the saying is "Wharts and all".

There's another girl on YT somewhere. A little older, I would say late 20s-30s and she knows she's pretty. And that ruins everything right from the word go *sigh*.

Why would you want to live life like that? knowing that you'd earned sod all because of your own merits and were simply "tits and ass"? that doesn't fix the problem it just makes it ten times worse. It sends out bad signals to other women, hence why there are so few in the tech community that actually portray themselves as themselves.

Really summed it up in a nutshell there. People want to see the biggest and craziest systems, regardless of cost. Makes it almost impossible for any smaller content creator t get on the scene, while the big guns can keep pumping out recycled ideas using newer parts and generate enormous amounts of views.
 
I would love to have a project, but as I am no longer able to work I simply don't have an ability to fund one let alone water cool my current rig.
I was into modding cases but the fun seemed to vanish once I had 2 huge Chieftec Dragon cases, I had massive plans for cutting them up and custom looping etc but it just fell on its arse.

It really is a shame. I'm quite involved in the community around high end vapes and it's exactly the same, just in an earlier stage. A guy can make a new YT channel, do really well, gain a lot of respect, but if a woman attempts the same, her views will be constantly undermined so out come the tits, just to get equal coverage. Something I've always done pretty well at avoiding but that's just due to persistence and actually knowing my stuff
 
We had another big ding dong on another forum recently about sexism, and the other end of the spectrum (from me of course lol) that a pretty girl was flaunting herself on a modding forum and wasn't actually doing the modding herself (me who spotted it).

That turned sour. People were actually kissing her ass, then I exposed her. Most of the pics were of her, her body, her hair, her perfect nails etc. Then I watch one of her Youtube vids and it's her BF doing all of the modding lmfao. She almost won a very prestigious award too.

Which being who I am I find terribly annoying. I know most forums and the internet is a sausage fest but seeing men blinded by their genitals winds me the F up as well. FFS have some control and a back bone.

Any more serious modding has fallen a bit by the wayside for me too. I moved out of the family house about two years ago and now just don't have access to even a garage. I got my dremmel out in the kitchen last week just to adapt a fan filter slightly and my house mate still wen't crazy :lol:
I really do want to revive the PM G4 project I was ATX modding before I moved though. Perhaps in the summer when I can work out side :)

God damn.. that's pretty awful. I'd have spotted it a mile off though to be fair. Nail polish is not compatible with watercooling. It will chip instantly and you'll be sad :lol:
 
Overclockers promoted a young lady last year i think it was, I was unable to watch all of it :D

Yup same here. One bed flat about 80ft from the beach. No garden, no nothing. I have to keep all of my bloody rubbish in here too, which means washing absolutely everything (food packets, tins etc) or it just mings in here :(

I do use my kitchen. I just have to meticulously clean it after every session. Acrylic powder is very easy to remove from lino though with just a DP&B. But yeah, it all adds to the time it takes to mod unless you like treading grit all over the sodding place.

Did make me laugh last week when some dude says "Get a drill press they are cheap" and I said "Where should I put it? in the toilet?".

Mind you pay back comes in the summer months when I get a four-five month holiday haha. I don't have to park, or pay to park and the beach becomes my back garden :D

A drill press in the bathroom? I have a vinyl plotter that lives on top of the fridge because it has no where else to go. I've already converted my little cellar in to a paint booth!
Luckily my current rig hasn't required too much dremmel work yet, but there's really not much that can be done on such a plain glass case. At least I am actually doing all the work my self though!

That was the back box. I put pillow foam in it as a filter, bolted it to a larger front box, bracketed it and then stuck it out of the window. You should have seen the entire Polish family from downstairs come out as this big tumble drier hose dangled down into their garden lmao. They thought I was trying to gas them or something.

What I was actually doing was a side quest during a mod, and building a window hung paint booth. And it worked really, really bloody well too.

Looks good! and yes, a cellar haha. It only has about 5 foot of headroom and is full of old junk, but it makes a half decent setup. Not that I've actually painted anything for this rig :lol:
