KONY 2012

I'm not going to explain this myself because the video will do it ten times better.

If you agree with the campaign to rid of the Lords Resistance Army share it on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr or even in real life with posters!

Good cause (tho apparently no ones seen kony for years) but 100% not the charity to give to, they only gave like 35-40% of there donations last year, and the founder + 2 ceos took a $90,000 pay slip each.

Give to a different charity if your going to give to there cause.

As has been said, a good cause but I have read enough articles recently about how this news is 5 or 6 years out of date and that Kony isn't even in the country anymore.

There has also been people from Uganda saying this video is more harmful to the country than good.

Haha, this is the kinda stuff that annoys me. So many people just sharing a video thinking it will help. Granted it will spread the knowledge but will it actually help?

No it wont help. Theres thousand of young kids on Facebook saying they will be putting up posters about him next month, I wonder how many will follow it up, let alone remember him in a few weeks time. No-one cared before the 30 minute video, so why should they care now. taking down a Warlord isn't as simple as chucking up a few posters and blurting it on Facebook, we already have troops out fighting wars they shouldn't we don't need to go and throw good (taxpayers, mine and yours), money down the drain. People need to get a grip, its not as simple as that. Sorry for the rant.

+1. Take one down and another one will replace him. That is the sad truth and only the Government of Uganda can help, which they have not done and probably will not do anytime soon.

The majority of Governments in Africa are corrupt anyway, the charity money (remember Live AID), doesnt get the people who actually need it, it just lines the corrupt fat cat politicians and helps fund their civil wars and live a very comfortable life.

Very true, can't agree more.

People say they're fine, why change that? Why should we even care if it doesn't affect us? Yes ofcourse help them if they live in fear of getting killed, but nothing has happened (AFAIK). This is just another excuse for stealing oil, gold and silver.

Its like the worlds biggest flashmob sort of thing. It ever showed you in the video that the lra had left uganda so at that point would it not just be

Ok dudes the guy that did all the bad things is gone now so there no need for us to campaign to get rid of him

Ceo. But i like getting money for free

Ceo2. Good point

Founder. Lets make a kick ass touching video about the dude get celebrities to endorse it and they will os any charity is good for their image. And then we will put together a information pack that people have to pay for with a piece of string and an old school milk bottle lid on it with some crap printed on it so they thin they are gettin something useful but really they are just buying a box of crap to make me rich. We will have to give a little to the cause so that we are legit but yea so when we make the video we will put it in youtube then it will spread like wildfire. The people will share it on facebook twitter

Ceo hmmm a lot of people use those things this is going to make bank

Founder. Shut up bill im trying to anyway yea fb twitter people will start writing kony on the chive instead of first and second. Then we will get them to use the poster in the packs to cover their cities with them. Which may be illegal but we have just made bank so we dont care

Im pretty sure thats how it went down

A lot of the countries in africa have a decent amount of stability right now and it would be a lot better if the countries we live in never turned them into flipping colonies a couple of hundred years ago and then "loaned" them money to "improve their infrastructure" and charge them crazy interest rates so they cant develop at all and then get your companies to pay them a little money and take a lot from them modern day colonialism and most of us are too blind to see it. leave them alone and they will work it out themselves

Guys I'm aware of the issues, have been for a while. I posted this like ten minutes after seeing the video assuming the video was not holding back crucial details and there wouldn't be dodgy financials. Informed my friends about the multiple problems and told them the better charities to help out if they're still interested. Of course without emotionally charged content like what Kony 2012 has they didn't listen.

E: I would like to note that this video did something right. It grabbed the general populations attention and made them want to change other peoples lives - this doesn't happen outside of Children in Need. Even if this particular organisation isn't trustworthy and one that twists the reality I think there's a lot to be learned from how the whole campaign has played out. Other charities advertising in such a format could really give a much needed boost to awareness of world issues and perhaps make young people actually care.
