Hi,

My bro is needing a new cpu soon so i might give him my 1090T, but what i want to know if how much better would Sandy Bridge is compared to it in gaming (ive seen some benche screen where a 2500K gets 30fps more than a 1090T in some games), or should i wait till Ivy Bridge and how much would it cost for a Asus ROG board and a decent 4C/8T cpu?

Thanks

The 2500k is the more powerful CPU, I don't know much about the AMD CPUs but if you are seeing up to 30fps difference in benches then i'd say upgrade if you have the money.

If you are in no rush wait for Ivy, prices going off the info we have so far they are going to be the same as the SB prices for the CPUs. There are no prices or any info on the Z77 motherboards yet but you could always use a P67 or Z68, preferably a Gen3 one but if you are in no rush wait for the Z77 ones.

Yea ty that 30 fps was in Resident evil but other games see the 1090T only 3-6fps less so ill stick with it till ivy comes out then see, one question is though is that intel seems so much more expensive like for example a decent MB and a 2500K is about £350 whilst my 1090T and MB cost me £290.

The real question you should ask is would you spend that extra money to get something better?

CPUs don't make too much of a difference nowadays except in games like Total War games, just depends on how nice you want to be to your bro lol

You'd be better off holding for Ivy though, the Z77 motherboards are ready, just waiting on the CPUs
