I've Lost my National Insurance number and i don't have any P90s or anything so no record of it, there was this number that i've rang multipule times and asked them for it and they say they will send me a letter in 7Days with in on but i never get it and ive rang them like 4 times now and same thing... So what i'm wondering is anyone here know a way of getting my National Insurance Number??

Outside of visiting the place in S.Wales physically, the govt site says to goto your local one of these:

http://www.dwp.gov.uk/localoffice/index.asp

(the dwp link from the bottom of this page: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/nic/ynino.htm)

If phoning came up with nothing via post, going to one of the above is the only legal port of call I can think of.

Their idea of 7 days may well be 7 working days, excluding bank holidays, allowing for it to be processed on an internal job queue and allowing for the non-1st class postal delivery.

Chances are it would turn up eventually, but unlike when u owe them money, I can't see them rushing it to u.

So you've waited a total of 28 days I take it or am I assuming wrong here?

I'd phone them and have a bit of a go at them, it seems to be the only way to get big firms (just an example) to get their ass moving!

I rang like 2 months ago and then waited etc etc... Having a go doesnt seem to make a difference i tried that last time...

Isn't it on your old payslips? other than that go to the closest revenue office, tell them you have a job and want to pay your taxes, believe you me they will find your number quick enough :)

You should have given it to one of your old employers at some point for tax reasons so might be worth ringing them up and asking if they still have it? :)

What about your bank, didn't you use it for opening a Big Boy's account when you turned 16 and had to give them back the Super Saver squirrel ?
