Its been reported that Intel are set to release two new 45nm Yorkfield based quad core CPU's to their line up in Q3 this year.

Ahh na now you explain it I see but what it looks like at first glance is that your saying:

Q9650 > Q9550 > Q9450 are equivalent to Q6600 > Q9400 > Q9300

I don't know why anyone would want one of these due to nehalem being round the corner... One of those q6700's at a super cheap price would be nice to play with though.

Server parts very end of this year apparently but nothing mainstream until 2009... Octocores even later I believe.. Anyone feel free to correct me though if things have changed since I last looked it up.

As for the CPU... If ya want one I could more than likely pick you one up. Just gotta find somewhere in Vegas that will sell at decent prices.

I would love to get my hands on the Q9650 if those prices are about right. Never mind Nehalem and new sockets needed to run them. I think that will be an awesome chip capable of doing everything but satisfy the wife! :dribble:
