Intel Or AMD??!!

Greetings and the like

I have to go with Intel.. mostly cause I have a friend thats an Engineer for them and if I didnt go Intel well... hummm better stop right there :) but he says Intel and so I say intel.. yea that works

I have both. I have never used my athlon 64 yet (3000+ Newcastle) but I'm sure it will be fast. I currently have been packin a punch with a Intel Pentium 4 2.4Ghz Northwood, with Hyper Threading. It's VERY fast. I love it, but it lacks the expertise in gaming, which isnt cool becos I dont get all I can out of my BFG 6800 OC, which makes me angry, so I got an amd. I will keep my intel tho, when I get my MSI K8T NEO FIS2R Back. Watch, the proc. is busted, lmao.

Hi Guys

I own an Intel, but am in the process of building an A64. Parts obtained as of this moment are:

Asus A8N SLI Deluxe mobo

AMD64 Socket 939 3500+ CPU

MSI NX 6600GT x2 (yet to be purchased)

Enermax Noisetaker 600W ATX 2.0 PSU (yet to be purchased)

Gskill PC3200 ram (yet to be purchased)

HDD (undecided Seagate or WD SATA's)

Its hard building a dream PC with kids, a mortgage and a Masters degree debt. LOL

very nice, but I haven't heard of 'Gskill' RAM before?

I will go for Intel at the moment, AMD is getting problems with some games when they are running with the 64bit extensions (one of my friends has one... and is faster, but a lot of bsod)

nice specs there man ;)

I am an Intel supporter, always have been. I notice no difference at all when playing games. Half life 2 plays at full speed on my PC even on full settings. AMD are better for gaming though even though I see no difference. I don't really play a lot of games though.

Same^^, but I wan't to try something different, and I got this K8T Neo FIS2R and 3000+ 754 as a freebie, because my friend couldn't get it to work (and I decided to RMA the board.)

If I like it I do, if I don't I will run back to my faithful Intel P4 :worship::rolleyes:
