Hi ho

Time to start looking for my second year of insurance...trying to get it super cheap (compared to my first year!)

Anybody wanna recommend somewhere to check out? I got 1 years no claims :)

any more info on yourself and your car? Different places offer are better for certain ages/cars/gender etc. I find Elephant is pretty good for me, 21, no no-claims but 2 years driving parents car. Sky and Adrian Flux are also pretty good if your car is modified in any way, and they also tend to give discounts if your part of an owners club (just sign up to the forums and get a few posts lol). Can get some quite decent discounts :)

Car insurance is usually covered in smokescreens. In reality no insurance is cheaper than any other because if you look at the policy then you will get what you pay for. Higher liabilities, higher deductibles, etc etc.

I mean, you should be able to find a good cheap policy, but if it's too cheap the problems will arise if you ever need to claim.

Last year my cousin bought a brand new Hayabusa. Got cheap insurance, it got nicked. Here he is 10 months later still fighting it out with them because they keep sending him insulting offers.

Get the aviva deal

I deal with claims for a certain insurer via Adrian Flux! Get some interesting vehicles on there. They do all sorts of schemes including imports, modified, 4x4's etc. Unsure about their premium costs tho....

I had exactly the same car at your age - dark green, 4 gear beast!!!

This is true about cheap policies, e.g Tesco Value, but insurers should pay out for the 'market value' of the car. In reality everyone thinks their car is mint and is worth loads of money, but when you check other cars on the market it's not always the case. Claiming shouldn't leave you in a better position than before an incident, so if they find a car with similar spec, miles & condition then they can't pay more than that...

Ive always had good experience with Sky and Greenlight they tend to give you there best price straight out with no need to add parents or worry about increse in premium cos your car is modded.

I pay £500 for a heavily modified RX8 im 29 7 years NCB and 3 points.
