I finally see what all the fuss is about.

Glad to hear that cos Im going out to get a card today and after advice on here Im getting the 8800gts instead of the gtx,PC world(yeh I know but its near)has the bfg for 200 quid(the 320 version).

Mark i know you better to know that you know better than to look at just 3dmark benchies. The 7950GT pwns dude. Im using it right now instead of my X1900XTX cause its just that badass. Im really wanting to wait for the 8900 series before i get DX10.

So we've gotta wait till may for the r600? Need some uber pwnage dx10 goodness soon

its what I run with, plays bf2142 on max like a dream!

Sorry to be negative, but thats not hard.. ;)

It does look pretty though, I have mine maxed out plus 1440x900.. and its eye candy.. Although I would of prefered if they made the draw distance abit bigger.

Sorry for off topic.

I would like to just compare the choices tbh...ATI had the upper hand before, id like to see what they have up their sleeve this time round.

ati has had more time in development, i think that it will do better in dx10 cuz of the unified shader instead of a bunch of different pipelines acting as unified shader but i dont believe it will do as good in dx9

but what do i know

i dont care as long as i can play crysis like this

-We are going to have to disagree here PP..When i had the X1950 FlatOut2 was beautiful (I know its not the most fancy game) but clearly nicer looking than the 7950 or the 7600GTs in SLI.

BUT!

the 7950 played it fine and ran MUCH cooler. My 7600GTs in SLI also played it fine used less power made even less heat.

The pair of 7600GTs really did kick the 7950s butt in the benches.

If I had all this to do over again I would have got ONLY the 7600GTs and been happy till they sorted out the DX10 games/drivers/cards.

Yea alot of games look better with my X1900XTX but i like using the 7950GT for Digital Vibrance, and that its Nvidia and it was a free card. I dont like seeing good cards sit there. When me and my gf broke up i took back my machine and gave her back her old one i made a while back. I didnt want to see good hardware go to waste.

I keep forgetting we got the 7950s for free...:)

Honestly I wish they would take the cool running of the 7950 and cross it with low power needs of 2 7600GTs and than cross that with the beautiful picture of the X1900 series...

now that would be a excellent card.:worship:

Lol then there wouldnt be a need for an 8800 cept for DX10 haha. If that was the case even, idk if id wanna part it.

My point though was its still pwnage of a card compared to say a 7600GS.

Aye but thats not eggs to eggs :)

Mate seriously broaden your horizons. Nothing at all makes nVidia any more special than the next big company after your hard earned cash.
