So i really like my new hd 7850 and i like zero core function. So the card should turn off when displays go to sleep. The problem is google chrome uses the card even when it"s in the tray. I disabled most of the gpu acceleration features but still it wont engage even when chrome is in tray. I do run 50-60 tabs but still, how can i block it or other programs from using my gpu?

Have you disabled the GPU settings in the flags section ( chrome://flags/ )

Also, does it still happen if you lock the computer?

Other than that I can't think of anything else...
Could you not close chrome, then it should give you the option to reload all the open tabs on the bottom bar of the main page once you open chrome again, so you'd never really lose anything if you did that.

50-60 tabs is ridiculous btw...

Yes i have, that was not the solution but i seem to have found one, on the bottom of the settings page is "stop running background apps when closed" ,you select that and zero core works perfectly :D

Is there a way to block everything from updating the screen? So to block all programs from updating or refreshing anything in the screen with a hotkey and then later get it back to normal with the same hotkey.
