How to make my sound system work?

But the remote broke which means it is completely useless, however all the speakers still work fine.

Now I know nothing about speakers so I was wondering what would I have to buy to connect the speakers to?

Can't you just buy the remote ?
maybe that's cheaper !

Reciever would be my guess , but i am also a sound n00b ...
