Well specialtech say around 35 cfm for the 120mm

and 130 for the 180mm but i hardly believe that, but i will be buying one of theese for my shinobi and mod it in the front

Even though it might have the same CFM as the other fans, it is not being wasted, its blowing EXACTLY where you want it, unlike the others.

I think because of their design they a great for watercooling

Just buy a Raven case, or a Fortress. All your cooling worries will be gone

Well with regards to how they work they have unique fan blades which are designed to generate a lot of static pressure, which is great for radiators. The reason why the column from the fan is so straight is due to the grill at the end of the fan which causes the air to be leaving the fan to spin creating sort of a vortex helping the air maintain a straight path.

You can consider the grill on the fan to be rifling in a gun spinning to bullet in flight so physics will make it stay straight and true.

Using my hand, most of the air comes out of the sides (i.e around the outer ring).
