how noisey are the mach 2 gt's?

Im thinking of investing in one of these prommie 2 bad boys but my only concern is the noise. How noisey are these in real use? I run my 7800gt on the stock cooler atm which i consider to be noisey. Is it comparable to this or noisier?

Thanks

Id say its noisier than that hard to compare with anything:?

I always refer tot eh noise level as a standard air cooled case - stock HSF on an Intel CPU fitted in a steel case with 4x80mm fans running.

You can hear it - but the pitch of the sound is not intrusive but would takea few days getting used to if you left it on overnight and slept in the same room - after a week you would not notice.

lol I have 4 x 120fans and 6 x 80mm fans in my case plus chipset and vga fans and its still far noisier, but your right you do get used to them, they are noisiest when starting up of course :D

I don't find them noisy at all tbh. I've had 3 of them running 24/7 in my bedroom before and slept like a baby every night!! (No I didn't wake up crying or wet the bed before some clever person says that :D)

Brad are you sure your fans weren't on turbo?!? The units aren't that loud without being on turbo all the time.

Whould anyone be able to video there unit firing up, then i and other get to see it and hear it...i can host the vid too

yea that would be interesting to see. However, i suppose how loud depends on how close you hold it to the unit.

If im cooling a a64 4000 at about 3.2gig (hopefully :D) Would i need the fans on turbo? or would normal suffice?

Hopefully is the right word! keep and eye on the temps and work from there

also depends if its a mach 2 gt standard or a regas to 507

The Mach is noisier than my 7800GT with the stock cooler, but I`m impressed with how quiet the stock cooler is! :eh:

The fans are NOISY when on turbo, but pretty damn quiet at normal, IMHO. Turbo helps keep the compressor cool though. The compressor has a nice hum to it, but nothing more, I`d say.

I never found the volume of the machII to be noticable above the noise of the rest of the system.

To appeal to the individual you can control the fan speed (in control centre) to quiet the system; but with a potentially lower overclock.

Thats true - but TBH the lowest overclock on a mach is a lot better than the bestest ever overclock on a watercooled system.
