HIS 6970 overclock software

Hey all,

I have a HIS 6970 card. My friend has a gtx570 and he uses msi afterburner to overclock his card. I was watching him and it looked to easy. Does anyone know what program i have to use?

I looked on the HIS website and didn't really find anything. Maybe i just didn't look hard enough.

You can OC using the AMD Overdrive section of the Catalyst Control Center. If you have the display drivers only you won't have it installed.

Use the download driver bit at the top right of the page to select your card and OS version and then make sure you download the Catalyst Control Center package.

Once you have done that look for the Over Drive section. (see pic)

Once you have done that you can overclock by increasing the GPU Clock and Memory Clock.

just increase them a bit at a time until you get it to how you want it, if your games start to not run properly you need to lower the GPU and Memory clock until they run stable again.

Your card will also run slightly hotter when overclocked so if your temps get to high set the fans to manual and set them to about 45 - 50% and you should be alright.

I never knew you could use Afterburn for AMD cards, is there any noticeable difference over CCC?

I have had a 5870 overclocked using Afterburner and I ticked the enable overdrive box in the CCC.
