Help with SRCDS on Linux...

Hey all I'm having a few issues with our Source server in the USA doing some funny things.

The first thing is that it's making players download all of the sounds every time they join the server, whereas it should only happen the first time they join and then every time after that should just be a standard load w/o downloading anything.

Second thing is that our custom sounds aren't playing/working correctly. When we try and play a sound, or the default sound that's supposed to play when you join the server it gives an error stating that it failed to play sound because the file is missing from the disk/repository. But we see the files get downloaded on server join, so we know that they're there, for some reason it's not linking correctly though.

Anyone have any ideas wth is going on? Thanks in advance!

Yeah but then when it crashes there's nothing I can do to get it back up until I get home... Linux I can crontab the process and never worry about it

Plus Linux doesn't have any gay memory leaks.

Edit: Oh yeah Jim, I got FTP sorted last night, yay! Nick is a happy camper now.

yea server sounds and that annoying damage display you get up really suck sorry

I'm not too fond of the stats that pop up every time. The sounds I can handle.

O btw, your doing an awesome job with the server.

type settings to change ur damage stats settings, turn off the gui

and frag the sounds still downlaod twice for me
