help! audio skipping

hey guys

ive got an onboard DFI soundcard, and for some reason the sound keeps skipping on movies + games (opengl and dx)

the connection is via SPDIF, sometimes the sound will be PERFECT, other times it wont be..........strangely thought......i swear it doesn't happen on the headphones...

ive tried latest drivers, and different codec packs too.

i have a realtek ALC850, and i'm also using NVMixer as well (i'm not using anything to make the sound 5.1 from stereo (i leave the amp to do that by itself), so all i'm using is simple windows sound to the SPDIF.....it WAS working fine about 3 weeks ago, but i didn't do anything to make anything change, no installations of any kind......nothing......

this happens with both BSPlayer and zplayer

ideas?

You overclocked?

That can cause that kind of behaviour in on-board sound.

PS: Please change your sig to match the rules:)

Ummmm, if it is SPDIF optical then try to blow on the coneector going into the computer and into your speakers. Soemtimes dust can get in it and may mees up the sound.

since 3 weeks ago i've actually brought down my CPU and Ram speed back to stock defaults due to overly warm temperatures in my room.

just blowed out the sockets with my air compressor.......still doing same thing.

i'm currently trying hardware acceleration.....bringing it down a notch.....see if it does nethin

edit: hardware acceleration did jack s**t

the problem is ONLY on SPDIF.......NOT on headphones :/ (which are on 3.5)
