Hard drive not picking up in Dban

Hi,
I am selling my old pc to a friend and I am currently trying to wipe my harddrive
So far I have managed to transfer dban to my usb stick. However, when I boot from my usb stick and start up dban, my hdd is not recognised under discs and partitions, therefore I am not able to wipe it. Does anybody know how I am able to overcome this?

And what if you just boot into a Windows installer (where you can also partition hard drives), does it show up then?

PS Snortan, you spelled Enthoo wrong in your siggy?

Sorry Feronix I'm not too sure what you mean :/ I'm new to all this partitioning business

Edit:
Oh ok I'll do that

Edit 2:
It is there in my bios although it still won't let me wipe hdd

if you have a windows instalation disk around somewhere (or burn it on usb(is that correct?:s)) you can get into windows isntallation os (what ever that was called) and if you press shift + F10 you can format, clean, nuke w/e selected hard drives and partitions.

Didn't notice that, thanks!

Are you running RAID or AHCI? If I'm not mistaken DBN has some trouble recognizing drives sometimes under those configurations. Try to set the SATA controller in Bios to IDE.
I'm not running raid but ill try that tomorrow, thanks
