GTX Titan X Performance?

The guys over at Videocardz have some alleged performance figures for the GTX Titan X, which is rumored to come to the market for a price of $999.

TBF the 780 lost more Value over the year following that point than the Titan did

After the fiasko with the 780 that I bought then I will wait a bit and see what they come out with next as a ti verion or a platinum titan might appear.

Guys, I officially suck at searching on Google... but I can't find what the case is regarding the Titan and 780?, only comes up with the 970 case.

There wasn't a case at all. The Titan was released first at ~£900 as the biggest baddest GPU in the world and a few months down the line the 780 came out which was the same PCB, same cooler, half the memory and a couple less cores for ~£550. There wasn't anything odd about it but they did look practically identical which I guess may make your butt hurt if you had a Titan. In the grand scheme of things it was a great move, loads of waterblocks fitted both cards. It's not like the cooler was exclusive to the Titan, after all it was only an extension of the 690 design language.

I wouldn't say ripped off. If you simply want the best, you should be willing to pay for it. Kaapstad would say the same

I would say yes, and then when they released the 780ti or the Titan Black it was even more obvious that Nvivia had totaly f*cked the original 1000 Euros Titan owners..... =00=

What was a shitty move? They release a card that performs better and costs more. Seems pretty logical, right? Just because price to performance isn't as good as lower-end cards, doesn't make it a rip off. Show me another card in the 9XX series or in AMD's 2XX series that has 12 GB of Vram.

Surprised no one has bought up the Titan X is a budget compute card argument yet.

8GB vram is a pretty sweat spot at the moment for 4k. I can see it increasing overtime but at the moment, it seems the most you need (this is based on using two cards). 12gb kinda seems overkill but I'm sure something daft will use it at 5k.

Am I the only one that is extremely skeptical about the 999 dollar price tag? I would have thought it would be around the 1400 mark or so.

Do you mean the ares III?

Well in situations that use two or more GPUs it'll be the fastest. two 980s are faster though.

The Titan type cards are meant for very high res gaming ergo the big frame buffers and according to Nvidia they couldn't make Titans fast enough to keep up with demand even after the 780 came out due to people who run multi monitor setups who demand a lot of memory.

Show me something that uses 12GB of vram. Thats right. No game will. Wasted money

Triple 4K monitors would use this memory easy and yes there are those out there that run these types of setups.
