Hello everyone,

As a lot of you may or may not know i have recently brought a GTX 560Ti HAWK and was wondering what the red lights on back of the pcb were for. I have done some Googleing and such but cant find what there actually for. (also on the pcb they are labeled 1-8)

So was wondering if anybody here knows.

i think its power phase

Thanks for the reply, thats what i also thought when i powered it on for the first time, however they are all on all of the time(suggesting there not power phase, i could be wrong tho)

Thanks, Chris

They are usage lights. The lightning series has also had them, but now it seems the hawk series now does too. There should be a program offered by msi that allows you to controle the usage of the GPU. (I reccomend NOT using it). Its more for the people who are earth friendly. Also if you do turn it on expect HUGE drops in FPS in your games.

Thanks for the reply,

I have never heard of this program (don't intend on using it) is there a way to turn the lights off?

Thanks, Chris

Not that i am aware of. If you go to the msi site and look for your card there should be the download for it, cant remember what it was but you could see if its in there.

It wasn't there when i had my 5870 lightning.

Mate could you tell me how loud your card gets when your playing games? I'm looking at buying a couple, and just want to make sure they're not stupidly loud.

I will tell you, however you have to understand that your definition of loud may be different from mine

.

First off yes it can get loud, but my case is very old and has rubbish cooling ( thats why im getting a new one My link )

However i have tested it in a mates lancool k62 and it is almost inaudible, so pretty much as long as you have a decent case with good cooling you will be fine
