Gainward GTX 780 TI Phantom First Look

Cu is "Cooling Unit" according to reps (more reps :() but I like to think it's Copper as it makes more sense that way. :D

I've been lied to my whole life...

Well aren't the pipes copper anyway? I'm pretty sure they use copper which is why is cools better most of the time compared to other coolers.

It's Titanium! Although this nVidia rep calls it Ti (tie) Peeenarse!

Thanks mate :) Edit: OMG, at 0:15 he says Tea, aye, and at 0:30 he says Tie! Edit 2: Oh I should watch past 30 seconds xD

Yes it does. Direct Copper 2. Hence why the pipes are copper(at least i hope they are).

Yeah that sounds right

Argh I wondered why it would be copper with an uppercase U. I'm going to leave it before I go insane.

Isn't that the same guy that markets the GForce experience software as a 'good thing for gamers' ? lol. Credibility with me = 0.

Especially since he said it both ways in the vidyah ...

It's always been Tee Aye for me, and that's the way I'll continue to say it :P Same as I say Gee Tee Ex, Ex Tee and Gee Tee and of course Obsidian ;)

Great looking card, really like those removable fans as well, are those fans powered by a sort of touch connection to another part within the heatsink? Unless I'm blind I didn't see no cables.

I'd buy one of these if I had the pennies, I'll just hope there is a Santa Claus out there somewhere.

They had hotswap type connectors at the other end mate I was like wtf too

I noticed in Tom's Subscriber Video #26 that he has two of these Phantoms to play with. The case that those go in to has got to have awesome cooling as the inside is going to be like an oven. I had to return a pair of 670 Phantoms as the temperatures were unacceptable with my case (FT02).

They are nice looking cards for sure.

IMO best looking 'cards you can buy. Sparkle also made a line of cards witht the similar cooler on it and I used to really want one (sadly only overpricers sold it).

Hi

Hey guys, first time posting and glad to be here! :)

I have a question for TTL - Will we be seeing a 780 TI watercooled sli review by any chance?

P.S - All your reviews are tops as i find that you take the time to explain your thoughts and basically take a different approach to reviewing products, i found you through the Linus Tech Tips WAN show but now seeing your reviews i ain't watching his garbage again!
Thanks and keep up the great work!

Cheers,
