FX8350, to upgrade, or not to upgrade, that is the question.

if you read the review on oc3d(here) it spells it out in black and white.
for a new build forget it but for someone that wants bit of a performance jump(cpu only upgrade) would be the only reason to buy it(toms words):o

It's a decent chip, with a slighly higher power cunsumption. I would give it a chance if I were you. But that's just me.

It's worth noting of course, that most games do not utilize more than 4 cores and even then, the 4 cores usually aren't utilized fully. Other than the minor clock speeds differences, you won't see much of a performance difference in games in comparison to an FX-4300 or an X6 1100T.

For AutoCAD programs you will most likely see a larger performance increase though, with multithreaded applications the 8350 is ahead of the 3570k from reviews I've read.

Having said all that, it's only 15-20% faster than the 1100T so I don't think it'll be worth the upgrade. Your choice though.

If you are dying to upgrade now then go to the 8350. They perform better then the early FX chips. If you can wait then I would hold onto your 1100T and wait for what is coming after the 8350s.

Chances are you have to upgrade your mobo if you switch to the 8350 and I dont know if AMD will carry over the AM3+ socket on the next CPU they release.
