FX 9000 @ 5GHZ is equal to a core i5 3570K at stock.......![]()
Sorry mate but I think that's nonsense.FX 9000 @ 5GHZ is equal to a core i5 3570K at stock.......![]()
Honestly dude AMD isn't that bad.All AMD keeps doing is bumping up their clock speeds and core count. Just spend some time and money into actually making a good architecture![]()

Windows 7 had a bug and that was the reason bulldozer failed misserably.
The 8350 performs worse in win7, but according to benchies the 8350 performs quite a bit better.
And AMD has focused on getting developers in to make their games AMD optimised. BF4 will be a good example of this.![]()

It came up in this thread previously:FX-9000
why is there no thread about this yet.
are they out of their mind? 5GHz stock? what's the stock cooler of that thing? a waterloop?
Developing a completely new x86 core from the ground up is a massive engineering task, and thus quite expensive. To put things in perspective, the last time Intel did this was with the original Core 2 (Conroe) back in 2006, everything they've released since has just been refinements on that. All AMD keeps doing is bumping up their clock speeds and core count. Just spend some time and money into actually making a good architecture![]()
If you want to talk about what they should and shouldn't be doing, canning the big cores completely (ie. FX and Opteron) would probably be the best thing they could do from a financial standpoint.AMD is focusing on the wrong things.
'Bribe' isn't the word to use. nVidia have been collaborating far more with developers over the years with their "The Way It's Meant to Be Played" slogan. Better quality drivers are always welcome.Exactly. Instead of spending their money to actually make better quality products, they chose to use it to 'bribe' developers. It works, but it definitely doesn't make their products better.
Sorry mate but I think that's nonsense.
The FX8350 at 4GHz (=stock) performs equally, if a little bit better in games than the 3570k. Please don't be such a fanboy![]()
Depends what you really mean by that.
Single threaded performance still wouldn't be equal to that of a 3570K, but the multi-threaded performance would be much greater.
So it sorta depends what you mean by it being equal to a 3570K.
Replace "Intel" with "nVidia" and it's not a bad analogy when it comes to the GPU world as it is now anyway. The 7000 series is probably getting a little long in the tooth now, but it's still got life left in it yet. It's just like Intel is this happy family that buys a new car every year. Every year, they buy one that's a bit quicker than the previous and has some extra convenient features like cruise control or air conditioning.
Then there's their neighbour, Mr AMD. He own a somewhat older car but he keeps tweaking and tuning the engine to make it a bit quicker every year but in the end, it's still an old, not very luxurious car. It works, and it's quick though.
That's kind of how I see it xD
Every company is different, the only way you'd probably find that out is if you take a job with AMD.Do they even have a small team that tries to create new things while the main part of the business is focussing on producing what they have now?

So us AMD lads are the nutters in the saxos, and the FX-9000 is our 2000hp dodge charger..?
I can live with that.
