Fractal Arc PCI Problem

Hey Guys,

I have just bought a Fractal Arc for my new system but I cannot install any PCI Cards as the bracket seems to be at the wrong angle, see pics, I don't know if anyone else has had a problem like this but it seems a bit weird because the box was un damaged and the build quality seems excellent. If anyone has any suggestions I would be grateful.

Thanks

Alex

In the top picture is the GPU installed into the PCI-E lane on your mobo? When i installed my GPU i had to use the 2nd and 3rd bracket down as that's where the PCI-E lane on my board and the brackets lined up.

hmm really strange ... i dont got this problem at all and i have my card in the first slot too and it fits all like a glove

Yeah this is really weird, i have no idea why it's not lining up correctly. Have you tried putting the GPU in the next PCI-E x16 slot and seeing if it fits ok?

yeah tried on both 16x slots, also my sound card in the 1x slot, could put the screw in but it was at an angle in the slot. I've checked the standoffs but they look ok

might be a lil tweaked but you should still be able to get the screws in just hold the bracket lined up with the holes and whallah

i really have to force it becuase its between 1.5 and 2mm off and I really don't want to ruin a brand new mobo, it fitted in my last case perfectly. I must also say that the back plate on GPU does not sit flush against the case with the same angle as the 3rd pic

I don't want to put down everyones suggestions but i'm leaning on the side of caution, i've submitted a support ticket to fractal so I guess I will have to wait and see what they say. I really don't want to have to RMA because of the hassle.

I kind of fixed it even though its a bit touch and go as it looks like the card is pulling quite hard on the slot but I found the back is slightly flexy. So i pushed from both sides and just managed to get the screws in. I think I just need to use a soft mallet and a piece of wood wrapped in cloth and tap it so that the pci bit stays in its maxed flexed state

it'll be a pain in the butt to do, but are all of the motherboard stand-offs the same height?

i had gotten an antec and i had three different height MB stand-offs

I beleive so, some were a little stiff because of the paint but i nipped them all up with a spanner so I think they are all the way in
