I accidentally shorted the 5v rail on my Corsair HX620 to ground.

I wanted to volt the fans in my secondary system down to 5v. I was too lazy to get my multimeter, or look up the molex pinout, so I broke out the molex pins on the fan connector and plugged them directly into the molex while the PSU was on. However I stupidly ended up touching the two fan molex pins together while connected to the molex connector on the PSU only to have it shutdown on me.

Luckily there's overcurrent protection in the thing so it's still alive and well. It would have been heart-breaking to give it a send-off after nearly 5 years.

Sometimes I wonder why you guys even bother with watercooling. Waaay too much trouble for me. I like my hefty, but quiet tower coolers. Worst that can happen is the fan fails.

wut. My seidon has never skipped a beat despite running a 9590@ 5ghz for a week without stopping . How/why did it die?

It started making a ticking/clicking/tapping/grinding sound about a month ago from the pump, at first I thought it was simply the radiator fan but nope it's the pump. At first it would do it after an hour or so of powering on and would last about 5 minutes and go quiet again but its just gotten worse and worse and today it gave up.

Luckily I also received a RMA ticket from Scan today so it's going back, now that's what I call good timing. I'd be totally impressed but it's only 7 month old.

my one made that noise for a little when I changed cases from a vertical one to a horizontal. Its sorted itself out.
