I can't decide what car I want next, I'm stuck between a Nissan 200SX S14, Mitsubishi Evo 8 or 9 and Skyline R33 GTR. FML D:

oh you have such a hard life ;)
why not an r34 gtt?

That looks hella sexy. I love that blue and that's the colour I would love to have my skyline in.

I feel you man, your life sucks, I can't decide between a fiat uno and a peugeot 106.....

That sucks. Maybe get a Toyota Starlet or something?

My mum keeps using my current car so I'm trying to get her to buy it off me and then the funds can go towards a 'fun' car.

Will having 3 points on your licence have a real effect on insurance quotes?

I'd imagine it might for you a little bit as those cars are all viewed as 'hooligan' cars by insurers.

-edit- maybe get a gt86? they're still great fun cars but cheaper to insure.

Thunder storm and Torrential rain + 4 mile walk = soaked like a mofo. :p

I feel you pain dude, Belfast has one months worth of rain on Saturday and i spent that day waiting outside Belfast comic-con for 2 hours, after walking there around half an hour.

I just saw it on thetube, RWD fun :)

Just got a quote on an a skyline and the cheapest is £675 with 3 points on my licence.

lel, my corsa costs me around £1k. :(

You are about 18 though, aren't you? Sorry if i'm wrong though.

It's strange though, my 1.6 astra is £375, for an extra £300 I can insure a 2.5l skyline. I will have had my full licence for 6 years on the 15th of this month and I have 7 years no claims.

i don't understand why you guys are all driving cars worth less than your PCs lol

My car cost me £11,500 back in 2008, I do and I don't regret it, I regret having to pay it back until May last year and don't regret it because I passed my test in it :)

Try insuring a nice car over here when you're under 23. Especially anything with an engine bigger than 1.3.
I'm nineteen and my first car cost my ~£6k in total (4k in insurance, 1.5k to buy and 500 for new tires). I never would have been able to afford it if I hadn't been left that sum of money by a relative.
It died around a year later (engine issues) and I only recently got the scum/car dealer to pay me back for the car (only the 1.5k), hence new rig. I got my current car for free and I'm planning to get a new one once I've finished my rigs.
Oh and once I've actually accumulated enough money to pay for the insurance, because apparently everyone whos a young driver will crash into everything. My friends who are 22/23 have nicer cars (as insurance for newer stuff becomes logical), such a BMW 1 series and a Toyota GT86.

500 for new tires? that seems a bit expensive if that was for 4

yeah insurance isn't cheap for young people
luckily i'm in the position where i can spend about 18000 euro on a car (probably later this year) and not worry about insurance too much, will be about 1500 i think.
if i were to get something like a golf it wouldn't be much cheaper so might as well..

It was for new alloys as well as they were really tacky aftermarket crap. To be fair the whole car was tacky from the factory (it was one of these, an MG ZR .

I'm planning to eventually get one of these possibly. I wish I had 18k to spend on a new car :I.

never really liked those small cars either, however a lot on here seem to prefer those
currently planning on getting an audi a5 but also considering a few other options

Smaller cars are just a whole lot easier to buy/insure/cheaper to repair (most aren't premium brands). Also there is something really quite amusing having a small car that can beat bigger cars, kinda like the whole ITXvs ATX argument I guess.
If I actually used my car for everything else and not just social stuff I'd get a bigger car. Cambridge is just one big traffic jam and I only use my car to get to places where I can't cycle to.
