fans for a wood case

i was starting a project for a wooden pc (HTPC style)...

the main set-up was 2 "floors":

top: motherboard

bottom left: power supply

separated

bottom right: drive bays, controller (if needed) and at the back HDD's

the top part would have one intake and one outtake per side, the bottom would have the same configuration

(skillz incoming)

X = fan

|------------------|

|___X____X___| (top)

|------------------|

|__X__|___X__| (bottom)

|----------------- |

what i was wondering is that if i had a system with water cooling, where should i set my fans for the radiator?

on the side? at the back?

this build is mostly for looks (and i don't want it to sound like a tornado) what do you advise?

I would recommend some Noctua NF-P14 or Noctua NF-S12B ULN(6,8dba!!!!!) . But I shouldn't run water cooling in a wooden case.

and the fans should sit so if u watches the case from the front you should have the fans blowing from left to right and two fans on each "floor" so you get the push and pull system.

btw NICE idea keep us updated!! :)

Sorry, but why no water cooling?

IF you're worried about wetting wood- there are plenty of potential solutions. And some things go without saying- i.e. test for 24 hrs outside of case.

But solutions wise:

Danish Oil?

Linseed Oil?

Of the top of my head. JFGI. [I am very proud of my non-noob slang here: JFGI stands for just effin google it]

:D for now it's an air cooled case, will go with some Linseed Oil or some good old Bondex :D

if the case is sturdy i WILL make it a fully operational case (no "oh shit will do" things)

Think i may have to do something with wood. You have me thinking nows....XD

on a side note, please watch the language guys....Family forum....
