F@H noob question

So i was reading around on the internet and read some stuff about opting in to run more resource intensive WUs, however they never said how and i cant figure it out. Can anyone tell me how to customize the work units i get as far as RAM usage and deadlines and things of that nature?

I'm assuming you're talking about -bigadv. There are options in the F@H clients that allow you to run these 'special' units. However for CPU's you have to have a certain number of cores if you want to run them. I think the minimum is 16/24 cores (I'm not 100% sure). For GPUs you can run -advmethods, which give slightly better PPD and utilize the CPU less than the normal units, which means that CPU PPD increases slightly as well.

Do you have a 8 core/16 thread CPU? I think that's the minimum you need to run -bigadv. What F@H client/program are you running?

How do i configure it to run -bigadv and -advmethods?
If you are using the GPUtracker then all you need to do is click the box for it,

I am still working on the v7 one ,
making a few picture guides for new users....

Happy folding and good luck !!

Yes, but doesn't he need to have a certain number of cores to be able to run -bigadv units. Last I heard, it was 16/24 cores. Not exactly sure.

Yes you are correct al tjho i thought the minimum was 8 cores,
going to find out asap !

EDIT , again you were right :) its "bigadv-16" all "bigadv-8-12" are phased out !

I'm using F@H v7, and I have looked all around and don't see a lot of the settings you have SnW specifically the -advmethods. Where is the option in v7?

I have send you a PM (link howto BIGadv (flags))
As i am still working on the OC3D guides and myself is adding new hardware for team 98860 ,
