FragTek said:Ok sorry to keep posting but this is just SOOOOOO wierd....
I came back to my comp after letting it sit a few mins and cleared the CMOS, then powered it up... Everything popped on and the laggy startup/soft reboot wasn't there just fired right up how its supposed to (the main reason I was going to buy a new PSU).
Well now it seems to be running better than before? ROFL. Booting in and running perfectly at 2.5ghz, vid card still at 1.5v gpu core, haven't changed a damn thing.
WTF? What was the problem? If it keeps running good I'm gonna cancel new PSU and get mah god damn Diego!

name='FragTek' said:Thx Mr. Matt! If it stays running good for the next few days fuck a new PSU, it's diego time mefinks!
name='kempez815' said:Good its about time we had someone testing out those new cores :awhip:
name='FragTek' said:Ur right! No one here owns any of the new hotness yet, not even a 3200 or 3500 venice!

as for video card, BFG's are 'teh r0x0r5'
name='FragTek' said:Ehhhh no... a 3200+ Venice on a budget board would whoop a 3700 hammer up and down the road with a cromoly pipe!![]()
|3ourne said:I hope you are not talking at stock speeds Frag .
If so then I would have to go with Nicks here , a 3700+ at stock vs a 3200+ venice at stock , the 3700 will slap venice around like its little whore. There is one thing if you consider dual channel but its totally another if you bring in the 400 mhz advantage that the 3700+ has over venice , not to mention the 1 mb cache . About dual channel , well the Integrated memory controller even on SKT 754 is so good that the performance deficit isnt remarkable by any means. Its not like the difference between a VIA KT600 ( single channel ) and an Nforce2 ( dual channel ) board.
|3ourne said:still overclocked I would say the 3700+ would give the 3200+ a nice run for its money considering the difference in the wafer used to make those chips.
AMD is binning their 3000+ and 3200+ venice procs now . So 3700 wafer quality > venice's wafer quality. with proper cooling and under the hands of a skilled overclocker the 3700 would be showing its tail lights to the venice in no time .
