Need some serious help here, guys.

HOT DIGGITY DAMNIT!!!! We have confirmation!

THIS IS A SOFTWARE ISSUE!!!!!!!!! You guys were right after all. For the love of GOD!

It just so happens that as I was about to check on your suggestions (messing with BIOS settings) I found the answer to all my problems. Tonight I tried to boot and realized my screen was flickering black. Looks like a bad sign right? This is after I installed windows 8.1 to test and uninstalled the NVidia drivers. I had to boot into safe mode just to get graphics on screen.

Since some of you guys suggested I look for software issues I said "why not try in safe mode?". I booted into safe mode with networking and hit CTRL+ALT+DEL and started task manager. Went to the performance tab and noticed my clock speed was 3.30 GHz on IDLE!!!!!!!!! Now comes the weird part.. I ran an intel burn test and came up with this:

cpuusage.jpg

Notice usage is 100% (like it should be) and the clock is still 3.30GHz. CPU-Z (although not fully functioning in safe mode) reports a clock speed of 3298.05MHz. This explains the software issue. What's causing it.. I'm not sure. I'll uninstall AISuite and see what happens. The only thing I do know is that my clock speed SHOULD be 4 GHz based on my BIOS settings. I'll see what I can find.

OP don't use all the junk that Asus bundle with their gear like AISuite. Keep it simple and do it yourself.

I would format the harddrive.

Install windows 7 and all the updates.

Install just the drivers for the chipset from the Asus CD

You can download a hack from NVidia to allow you to use PCI-E 3.0 with their cards.

Install the latest NVidia drivers.

Make sure the bios settings are reset.

Enable XMP in the bios.

Leave the BCLK alone in the bios.

Any overclocking you do keep it simple, for example 40 on the multiplier and 1.25 vcore to get the PC running.

I don't know much about some of the PSUs you are using but none of them look that good, make sure you are using a good quality one.

Don't use IBT or furmark they can both damage your hardware.

now you can join the rest of us in our unanimous "do not use software thats suposedly controlls the bios from windows" mantra.

any way i suppose your not 100% out of the woods yet. but atleast its been highlighted that your cpu issues are software/driver related

and honestly if a idle voltage idle clock cpu at a max usage of 37% possible isnt enough to cripple a gpu then nothing is. so i would imagine when you get that 100% sorted out you will be good to go.

All fixed. Much love guys <3. Come to find out there was a "Slow Mode" switch on my mobo that they sent from the factory in the ON position...

I had to laugh when I noticed it.

----------

I came to find out that there was a switch I had never noticed before. I had an issue with the Nvidia driver and I went to go boot in safe mode to try and fix it. After I was done with safe mode I went to restart by using the switch on the mobo. That's when I noticed the switch. LN2 "Slow Mode". It was set to "ON" from the factory. With some research online I came to find out that this switch, when enabled, locks your multiplier at exactly 12x. When I disabled the switch my overclocks immediately started to register within windows. Boot speeds were still fast and windows no longer ran like garbage with my kingpin cards.

All is well. Thanks to you guys. Here's some updated benchmarks and some other pics:

First pic: The aftermath and mess of me taking things apart a bunch of times, lol. No extra charge for letting you see my tooth brush:

Glad to see your problem has been fixed.

Just give me 1 hour with your rig and I will make it look like a pro cable sorter has been in there, A rig like yours deserves good cable management, Pretty please, It's crying out for it ^_^

Believe me, I know. Haha! I'm actually pretty picky about these things and so is my dad (he's much worse). It's just all the removing of hardware and such that kind of hinders my cable management situation. I've taken stuff out of this case so many times it's kind of falling apart so I think I'll upgrade to one of the Corsair ones. 750d or 900 series. Not sure yet.

If your air cooling do not get the 900D, It sucks donkey ass for air cooling, Even for water cooling it's not really that great to be honest for the price your paying, Although I'm only going off of what owners of the case have told me.

The 750D though is brilliant.

Ah I see. I more or less just wanted it because #1 It's huge and would have a lot more room than even mine does (mine is big as well) for the components. Would make cable management a breeze #2 I love the huge side window that shows all the parts. #3 At some point I want to put an h100i on and possibly even put a custom loop on these kingpins. Not sure about that last one yet. Depends on my temps.

I would also love a 900D but I have been told by 900D owners that unless your doing an extreme WC loop i.e 2 x quad rads at the bottom, Quad or tripple at the top etc etc.. it's really not worth it.

Doesn't stop me from wanting it though^_^

As Dicehunter said, the 750D is brilliant, I can definately vouch for that as I have one sitting next to me :D Plenty of room in it and plenty of fan mounts, in mine I have 10 fans running, 2 front as intake ( AF140L's what come with case), 2 bottom as intake (AF120 LED Fans), 1 rear as intake (AF140 LED) 5 on top, 4 in in push pull on H100i as Outlet (2x SP120L, 2x SP120 LED, and the AF140L that was floating spare fitted over drive bay as intake blowing down onto ROG Front Base)

HAHAHA. I know exactly what you mean my man. How do you think the 750D compares to my current case? I have the thermaltake armor+

The 750D will blow the Thermaltake out of the water in every aspect, Build quality, Looks, Airflow, Performance, Custom options, Quality, Quality ^_^

I can't wait I have a few spare $$ and can get rid of my switch 810 and get into a 900D.

The next stepping stone omw to a Cross Desk haha.

I don't know why people would complain about the wc options for the 900D there something like 5 rad locations two of which are for upto 480mil rads. Tbh the isn't a mainstream production case with more options. And I love how it has the split sections a nice little hidey hole for anything ugly or anything that'll make your systems look cluttered.
You've gotta keep in mind its almost 700 high and like 660 deep or something crazy like that. It's a monster.

It's not that people complain that it has too many WC options it's that for the price they are charging it has flaws that don't really justify the cost.

I am going full WC loop at the end of this year and the 900D has been on my wishlist since it launched as I love the design it's just the owners I've spoken to have said for the price it has too many flaws

These flaws are weak plastic on the mechanisms on the panels so when you pull in the switch sometimes that can snap the flimsy plastic tab underneath the panel which results in you having to awkwardly remove the panels through the bottom compartment.

The front I/O panel has a weak mechanism that is prone to snapping very easily.

The front intake is practically closed off which realistically means not enough air coming in.

There are more and for the price this thing costs these should not exist.

The slow mode slows down the chipset a lot, the whole ssem porformance significantly drops.

If you have a problem with your pc, the first thing to do now you know will be to check jumpers, switches, pins on the motherboard

The kngpin cards are made for l2n, so i guess they reacted to it a lot more to this than radeon gpu

To be honest I bought the 900D and the only flaw I had with it was that there was no mid panel. I agree the front intake is not amazing but it is not that bad really. As for lower compartment, I removed those silly panels on the sides because its nice to show the radiator fans working hard. It is too big to fit on "ones" desk but all in all, I'm more than satisfied with my case.

As for the front I/O, I is a little weak. But its taken a knock or two from me and not broken. I dont use it anymore though. I run my USB through my Swift monitor ;)

for looks though.. I would say there are many more "sexier" looking cases out there. But not many can compete with the space available.

You can always opt for cases from LD if you want even more space or better options and customisation however. But they make the 900D price look like nothing in comparison.

I still badly want the 900D but I've never spent more than £180 on a case and I'm finding it REALLY hard to justify the £290 price tag to be honest, Even though I would love the case.

You have got to be joking  I can't believe we missed that. So happy you have solved it and are all running normally again.
