MSI R9 290X Lightning issues... Help!

I sadly feel somewhat sour about upgrading my GPU now and have nothing to blame yet...!

Bump + I had a weird thought; Is there by any chance it could be the PCIe Slot on my motherboard? seeing as this card can utilise gen 3 x16 slots and I only have gen 2 x16.

Based on the fact that this GPU focuses on power delivery differently is there any differences into how power delivery works on either gen PCIe slots?

Would love some thoughts, cheers

Nothing wrong with PCI-E 2.0

I use a RIVE BE mobo that can run the slots at 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0

When using PCI-E 2.0 or 3.0 with my 290Xs there is practically no difference in performance or power delivery.

With PCI-E 1.0 there is a drop of about 5% in performance due to much lower bandwidth.

Hmm, The only reason I considered it was because the Lightning 290X has a different power delivery system, can't remember what the PLL/PCIe Bus power was used for though...
