Error --- Help

Got this error today:

STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER

STOP: 0x100000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER_M

Any ideas why? It results in a BSOD and instant system shutdown. I am on the latest drivers. The problem hit me for the first time this morning...turned system on loaded BF2 and it crashed with the above error.

Any idea??

When was the last time you changed/Modified the video drivers?

Sounds like a problem with the nVidia drivers, when you installed the last drivers did you driver clean etc?

could also be a problem with RAM

whip out the drivers then use driver cleaner and then re-install the newest ones.

see if that helps.

Ran driver cleaner....and have latest drivers too...

When I play a game i can play for a few minutes then the screen locks up and the blue screen pops up...and then hard reset commences...

Shall I try different RAm considerations.

That actually sounds familiar. U can get something similar to this if u`r soundcard isn`t correctly suited to a pci slot and during installation of drivers, the software thinks it`s a slightly different card than it is. Hence it sends something like a command that can`t be suitably answered, and keeps asking.

As this is seems to be a display issue, I`d fully back uninstalling the drivers, clean em out and install new.

By new I don`t mean the newest, I mean ones best suited for the card. 8800 tho... hmmm

BSOD would most like be the result of the infinate loop.

How can I do that Matt?

I reseated the RAM and ran 3D mark 06...got through a good few tests then BANG....system crash and restart!!!

Argh!!!

I reckon my card might be dodgy?

There's some options in the BIOS instead of letting the plug'n'play OS do the IRQ assigning you can manually reserve the IRQ for the No. that the card is requesting. I think I put in my graphics problem shooting guide how to find the IRQ but it's in the hardware menu in the control panel

problem fixed

reseated my GTX abd ran two 3DMark06 tests one after the other...scored 9500 in each test with no issues at all!!
