[EPUK] Clan Website

Ok guys,

Guess who decided he couldn't be bothered to wait for someone to do it lol. After talking with Big Phil, we decided that the web addy should be www.epuk-clan.co.uk.

I have now personally set this up and am hosting the site on my own server. If anyone would like to help out with the payment of this send me a PM cos it's not totally free but heavily reduced.

All we need now is a site. Any takers?

I will do it but I need to get some work finished so we need a holding site while I work with a few people on the site.

Also if you would like to be involved in the designing and running of the EPUK Clan site with me, please send me a PM asking very nicely :p

I dont know much about web design or anything, but if ya need any help, let us know, would like to do my bit :) SAS has been working on some site ideas, but I aint seen em yet. Think he`s away to Germany at the mo tho.

How does Teamspeak work? Will that be linked to on the site?

Yes TS will eventually be linked to the site so the IP will always be right. Gonna try to write a little script so you can click the IP and it'l launch TS and connect but thats future planning that.

This was the test site we came up with, I think its good, what do you have in mind Boardy?

I think it'd need a lot of work, the logo could be more clear etc...

I'm looking forward to the roster, I think we should have a mugshot, and a shot of our gaming rigs

It'd probably be a good idea to get everyones suggestions together, I personally think that PHP is probably the way to go, but may be a bit too much for now.

We could be jumping the gun as they say, perhaps it would be better to get some actual group gaming in first? :D
 
Looks great. I agree about the logo though. Mugshots and rigshots sound good. Also you might want a pic of a css guy somewhere just so it's obvious what we play :).
 
Its a shame i already have a CSS clan that i run but im more than willing to help you guys out with the site or even setting you up a server when/if you get one.
 
Ok this is gettin confusing, could those people who are interested in helping with some sort of design for the site, please send me PM's cos its hard to see whos goin 'yea il help' and stuff.

If there's loads of people wanting to help, we can alternate the web-team a little aswell, so everybody gets a go (as it wer lol).

Here we go again!

Cheers for all the PM's from those offering help, if you can read below that'd be fantabulous.

What I think is the easiest and cleanest way of doing things is to use PHP-Nuke for the front end of the site, and PHP-BB for the forums.

All of this has already been setup by me and is now running on the clan site URL. I've integrated PHP-BB with Nuke so the forum looks like it's just part of the site. If you forgotten URL, look back :p.

Now here's a list of things we need to do, those who PM'd me can you let me know which tasks you could, and would be up for doing. Also if any1 else could help, please let me know.

1) PHP-Nuke EPUK-Clan Theme Design (Working with me on layout but i cant do PHP, and have no idea where to start.)

2) Adding news to front page.

3) Members roster. Getting all the names in a list and a profile page on each member whacked up.

4) Finding a CS:S server stat module for PHP-Nuke.

5) Finding out about any fun leauges or tourney's we could go into, then maybe do some proper ladders.

I know I sound like I'm being a little bossy here but if it's gonna be done, it's gonna be done right, and being a webdesigner I like things being organised and on time lol.

Also on another note. We are lucky enough to be allowed to use Extreme Prometeia as the clan name (thanks Phil). Lets make sure people know about us for good reasons, not bad ones yea, agreed?

And most important, lets have FUN!!

Righty: I can have a go at the members roster once ppl give me stuff to include- Pics, info etc. What do you want it done in? (ie...application)

Fun leagues: 3 of the guys on my shift at work are part of a clan- "WTF PWN" dont know if theres a hyphen, dash etc between the 2 parts of the clan name. Can find out no bother. Think they`re all on CS: S and would fancy a go at us. Can find out from them what leagues there are
 
:D ill start searching for some of the things mentioned. Also though i would like to put forward a suggestion that i have discussed with another member of the forum. This is that only people that are interested in PC hardware and overclocking should be allowed to join the clan. This is so we share a common interest and dont have people joining the forums just for the clan.
 
Thats a good point... do we want "crutches" from ppl who are good at gaming or are we gonna make this just for "us" We are unintentionally elite anyway....
 
No I havnt, its the same theme as aXeR's aswell. Seem's it's a VERY good template for clans. We need a custom theme though.

We have a few members already, mates of mine, who aren't PC nuts but enjoy gaming. I think if this is going to work, we should at least let people who pass some "tests" join.
