Very minimal power requirements... I mean, so small that it's probably un-noticable on an elec. bill.

its standby so no fans running. and i dont really know about watts etc. i just wanna know if over the month leccy usage will rise at all

so u use 25 watts;

that is 1 Kw for 40 hours usage 1 kw is bout 10p<1 unit> so .25p for evry hour (a unit in eng is prob cheaper as NI elec prices are extortinate :()

Make sure you have S3 standby enabled in the bios. This will ensure the cpu and power supply shut down. You should only be using ~5watts on standby.

Peripherals are a different story. Maplins sell a plug in power meter. Try one and be shocked.

Bear in mind you can always enable hibernation if you need to retain stuff till the next session, and switch off at the wall.

Someone worked out how much power would be saved if Microsoft had the Windows default setup to go into standby instead of screensaver mode.

In global terms we're talking megawatts.

Vista will have much better power saving.

I'm the treehuggers worst enemy :p I drive a big ass car with a V8, leave my power hog ass computer on 14/7, have an A/C unit running all the time in my room just to cool the computer... lol
