DirectX 10?

Hello. May sound like a really stupid question... But where can i find DirectX 10?

I just installed Far Cry 3 and noticed it was set to DirectX 9 in the settings with no option to change to 10. So i assume i haven't got 10 installed? Installing 11 is NOT an option as i play inside a VM that only supports up to 10.

Can anyone help? I only seem to be able to find 9 and 11 on Microsoft's website. Other sites look dodgy to me :/

Why are you playing in a VM?...... If you can't find a link for it on the MS website then I wouldn't bother.

FarCry 3 doesn't support DX 10 mate. Only DX 9 and 11. You'll find pretty much all games coming out these days will only support DX 9 and 11. DX 9 because it's what consoles run and DX11 because it features everything from DX 10 anyway.

Indeed, unfortunately if you're running a VM that doesn't support DX11 you're going to be stuck with DX9 for most modern titles.

Haha yeah i've already noticed :/
Support for 11 is being worked on, or so i'm told. Probably be here in time for the launch of 13! lol
