Hello from the States,

I'm looking into buying a Prometeia, but I can't find any site that explains the difference between the Mach II and Mach II GT. :?

I think the coolent is diffrence, but is that the only thing?

Thank you for any help you can provide,

The MachII straight or MachII ST?

The Mach II ST - R134a & No LCD

The Mach II - R134a & LCD

The Mach II GT - Better gas (R404a) and LCD

I think thats about right, but I haven't had one for a while :$

I'm sure someone will come and correct me in a bit...

So in real terms - The mach2 GT provides a higher cooling capacity, essential if you are cooling a Prescott, Cedarmill or presler Intel or a dual core or FX series AMD.

Both will do a job, but if want best overclock then teh GT is a better choice.

Oh and welcome to the forums.

Thank you for the information and the welcome!

If I end up buying new, it looks like I will want the GT since the price diffrence between the regular and the GT is minamal (haven't seen any with the ST designation for sale). But 800.00USD is pushing my buget, so I will probably try to get one used (i.e. ebay) if I can.

By the way, since you are being so nice to this newb, what is a Chilly1? I've seen it talked about, but no infomation on what it is. I assume it a phase-change cooler, but is it another version of the Prometeia, some other companie's product or a mod of some sort?

Thanks again for your help,

Chilly one refers to a cooling head conversion on a mach unit - it can also refer to a complete phase cooling package but is not as user friendly as a mach.

Most people who have a chilly1 cooling head conversion also upgrade the gas to r507 or r402a so that they get the optimum cooling for any set-up.

If you plan to have that upgrade done soon after you purchase - then it's best to get a

standard mach2 as the gas will be changed as part of the head conversion.

Hope this helps

Cheers
