YEah I heard that also - time to go to one of the US sites and grab one while we can, it's a much improved version of what we have now and competes admirably (as in teh same as) with the RDX unit in terms of overlcocking features and improved voltage controls whilst still offerinf SATA2 and NCQ support.

I have just been speaking to Dfi about my RMA reurn and I asked them if and when the DFI Expert would be released in the UK, they confirmed that it is due in the UK market on week 48, so thats the beginning of December guys.

Looks like I will be getting one of these defo now as it looks like my Dfi sli-dr has been lost in the post when being returned to Dfi netherlands.

I'd hang fire momentarily until we can understand more of the 'teething' issues expereince by others (blown CPU's and PSU's).

I thought the whole point of the Expert was the sort out all the probs with the previous nf4 board such as the cold start issues, not to create more probs.

Watch this space for more information as we firm up the details and solutions ;)

at least this board acknowledges the uselessness of PCIe for sound and people needing probably more than one PCI slot - hurrah.

Bring on one PCie-4x slot for RAID/physx, one PCI slot for TV and one for Snd.

Oh yeah - So i downloaded the manual for this board looking to see if i could overclock it easily when I get it - and wowee theres a ton of stuff to tinker with.

A few questions: do i need to think about LDT at all or should i leave it alone - from the numbers it looks PCIe related?

Also, how do all the memory speed things work?

So for instance I select 300Mhz FSB, then I would select what - 1:1 ratio for FSB to CPU or CPU:FSB, multi down to 10/9 and then if i wanted to run ram at 250Mhz with memory, 5:6 for FSB:ram, or do i just set the RAM speed to 250Mhz and let it do it itself?

Not to mention HTT multiplier of 3x - which seems to be LDT/FSB ratio?

Forgetting voltages for the min of course.

Would that work or has the manual confused me? Hard to say without the actual bios infront of me.

Well the RDX has a better clocking NB chipset supposedly. The SB is not without its flaws though. Agreed the extra bios options are a useful addition and the space between cards and better socket postion are good reasons for a switch to either board (SLi/CF).
