yeah playing bf3 on it while we wait - think if i win id keep my current rig and put the corsair in the cupboard :/

My thoughts exactly, that beast will outperform any i7, and the integrated graphics in it rate higher in most categories then the gtx 690.

for gaming I agree but for other applications 16gb is usefull. even though all programs can run swiftly with 8gb I have topped 14gb a few times with maya autodesk on large files.

Also, if using mega studio audio samples, I use to run out of mem with 12GB, now upgraded to 24GB, running 64bit music software ;-)
I can 'Still' get near the limit with multiple samples.
